Why isn’t my dog sleeping?
My dog – Buster – is 16 years old. Suffers from CHF. He is on medication for that and arthritis. The past two weeks we have not slept much because he whines, scratches, paces the floor, etc all night long. What could be the problem? Our vet said it was something to do with the moon one day..but this keeps going on.
I would call another vet and get a second opinion…the moon? thats rediculous. He just might be uncomfortable. I mean, hes 16, thats pretty old. Hes probably just restless and sore. Make sure he gets exercise during the day and keep toys for him to keep him busy.
Sounds like he is in pain.
take hem to the docter hes in PAIN
Sounds like bloat or distended (sp) twist in intestines stomach
But the pacing and whining are also from pain. So your vet said the moon?
then your vet is an idiot! I know that it’s a stretch for an imagination but maybe, just maybe your dog is having small heart attacks. I strongly suggest that you get your dog to another vet immediately! Since he’s been in pain for 2 weeks it’s time to end his suffering and give him the most love you ever have, putting him out of his misery. I had a dog that suffered that too and finally at 15 he suffered a fatal heart attack, which started at home and he was whining and clearly in A LOT of pain, and I was too optimistic and stupid to know that he needed to be put down and thought that the vet could save him when all he did was let him suffer a hard and painful death. My parents suggested that he be put to sleep and I couldn’t even think of it and so there for he suffered in the end. Don’t be selfish like I was and make your pet’s final time a time of suffering…put him out of his misery and he will know that the trip to the vet will be his last and he will know that you are demonstrating to him how much you really do love him.
