Wht is the BEST Rx treatment for arthritis for dogs? Pls no natural, herbal or Glucosamine suggestions.?
I hаνе a 10 yo Chocolate Lab аnd hаѕ experienced serious arthritis fοr half hеr life аnd continues tο worsen. Of course I already give hеr a glucosamine supplement, etc. I’ve tried Rimadyl, аnd even Mobic, bυt nothing seems tο work long term οr consistently. Aren’t thеrе nеw injection medications out now? Thanks ѕο much.
Have you tried getting her acupuncture? Some dogs are greatly helped by it.
I give mine an aspirin a day
That’s a question for your vet to answer. I’m sure there are new treatments available he can share with you.
This is a question you should be asking your vet. Most will say Cosequin or Rimadyl. Supplement with glucosamine & chondroiten and give baby asprine. Anything you try, make sure to research it and check with your vet.
i give our old dogs cosequin ds daily. if they are having trouble moving about ill pop them a deramaxx to ease the pain. be sure your dog is getting exercise, nothing to heavy, just be sure she is getting up and moving around. massage can also help and a heat compress.
I currently give my 13 yr old chow mix two 325 mg enteric aspirin a day & she eats Science Diet J/D dry food. This has done wonders for her & after a week on the food, she started going up & down the steps & playing. She gets 2 cups a day but check on the bag for the proper amount. We also walk 3 miles 4-5 times per week which she wasn’t able to do prior to the food change.
