What kind of Doctor is best for treating people with Ankylosing Spondylitis ?

   Because AS is a type of arthritis, a rheumatologist is the specialist she should be seeing. I have found out (the hard way) that not all doctors, ESPECIALLY rheumatologists are created equal. I would suggest she shops around. If she can, do a bit of research and find out which ones specialize in AS. Most rheumatologists seem to have a preference and ‘like’ certain conditions better. I Googled my rheumatologist’s name in Google Scholar to see if she’d written any journal articles. I found only one on Psoratic Arthritis. I don’t have PsA so I soon realized she wasn’t the one who could help me (and because she was a horrible person with a mean attitude as well).

   If your daughter is still struggling, she could see a pain management clinic.
