what is a treatment for arthritis in the back/hip?

   Their are over 100 different forms of arthritis and one in six will succumb to it. You can divide them into inflammatory and what they term wear and tear. Inflammatory needs to be first diagnosed and treated by a Rheumatologist as it can also be systemic, as in affecting other parts of the body, skin, eyes, organs. Wear and Tear needs to be monitored by a Rheumatologist, treatment is usually pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs, let alone strengthening muscles, until the time arrives for joint replacements.
