What do my blood test results mean?
I have been told for 7 years that I have Fibromyalgia and Seronegative R.A. Just last week my new Rheumatologist said I do not have R.A. but Psoriatic Arthritis. I just got my blood results yesterday and they tell me something different. My ESR is 40, White Blood cells are 12, Lymphocytes are 20, abs. Neutrophils are 8.5, sodium 134, total protein 8.4 and Platelets 411. Don’t all of these results indicate a problem with my bone marrow? I am in constant pain, extremely fatigued and weak and have throbbing and aching in my bones. What do you think?
I think your only option is amputation. Of the head. You clearly arent using your brain anyways.
You can go to webmd.com and print out a list of what all those numbers mean. Just put in blood tests in their search. You’ll be surprise how informative their site is.
But your best bet is to ask your doctor.
Both the conditions you name are closely related. They are auto-immune disorders. Trust your doctor. Tell him/her your symptoms so you can get symptomatic relief.
Your blood tests mean nothing to us because we don’t know what the normal ranges are. There are different ranges for different ranges for what is normal.
RA and Psoratic Arthritis are very similar. And at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter what they call it. The treatments and manifestation is very similar. If you’re unsure or want to get a second opinion, definitely do. Most doctors will encourage a second opinion.
Good luck.
