My aso titres were 350,420 and 511 respectively in 3 months. But my esr value s 3 mm/hr. Can i suspect rheumatoid arthritis ?
Tell me about rheumatoid arthritis, what are symptons and what can you do to treat it, more especially in winter.
I’m ttc baby #1 but I’m not sure I’d ever know I was pregnant. Firstly I have pcos (polycystic ovary syndrome) and while tests show I do ovulate, I only have periods once every 4 months or so, if at all. Secondly I’m heavier (a size 12/14 pants) with a stomach so I don’t think I’d start to show til pretty far. Thirdly I have several health issues that make me have “pregnancy symptoms” daily. I have rheumatoid arthritis that presents in my spine (called spondylosis) so I have mild/moderate back pressure and pain daily. My cysts from my pcos press on my bladder causing me to pee a lot. I have fibrocystic breast disease linked with the pcos, so my boobs hurt all the time. And I have acid reflux and an ulcer that keeps coming back, plus nausea from the metformin I take for my pcos, so I’m constantly sick to my stomach. And because of my arthritis and fluctuating hormones, and my anemia, I’m tired a lot. Then I get told by my doc that otc urine pregnancy tests are unreliable for those with pcos. WTF? How am I supposed to know I’m pregnant? I can’t afford blood tests every month to check for pregnancy, my insurance only covers one every 6 months.
By the way in case anyone was wondering if I’m able to have a healthy pregnancy because of all my issues, I am on daily medications to manage issues, and my doctor said that while I am at an increased risk of certain pregnancy complications, because I’m only 21 and because I have already lost 30lbs and am trying to eat healthy and take my meds she thinks I’d be ok
My dog is old and for some reason he is acting like he has arthritis, its something to watch him try to get around, someone told me its cause wennie dogs have back problems, just wondering if anyone else’s dog might do the same thing, I dont know what to do with him…
GOJI juice. I am considering purchasing it for health reasons, including improved digestion, joint health, and cardiovascular health. How have symptoms of whatever ailes you improved? Have you lost weight using it? Did it help your diabetes? Arthritis? Do you feel healthier? Younger? Less painful? I appreciate any and all honest answers. No sarcasm or snide remarks necessary. Thanks!
my hip pain got worse just over night and felt like fire it radiated down my leg to my knee. this was the first time its felt this bad. i know that i have arthritis and fibromyalgia. but is this a new symptom of one or the other?
My daughter has felt bad for several weeks. She complains of aches, sore throat, back, and legs. She has a history of strep throat and had a tonsillectomy in JUNE.
(related/unrelated?)She had a fall a month ago and Doctors brought up hip displasia and possibly arthritis. It was later explained by an Orthopedist that her recent growth had caused tense bands from her hips to her knee and she merely needed therapy to help stretch and strengthen that ailment.
Two weeks ago she started complaining about not feeling good, she complains of aches, sore throat, back, and legs. The doctor said she must have a virus possibly in her adenoids? No treatment was given and she was told she would feel better in a few days (it seems a mini epidemic was happening in our community) but today it has been a week since that doctors visit and all she wants to do is stay home and lay around and she moans and whines when asked to get up or do something. Except for around 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. and she seems to get some energy.
Normally I’d just think she doesn’t want to go to school but today we took her back to the doctor who did Blood work for strep- and Mono- it came back with a wbc of about 4000 about half of what it should be. Strep and mono were both negative.
What could the causes be?
Is Leukemia a possibility?
Thanks Norton!
Joe C thanks and I’ll always take a prayer for me and especially for the kids!
and orthopedic doctor and she said it was a tear in teh quadriceps. But she also didn’;t do an MRI. My daughter is very physically active and loves to jump around , I tell her shes not supposed to until it’s fully healed. So i think she keeps reaggravating whatever injury she has, the swelling has gone down somewhat but not fully in the 2 months. SHe has no symptoms of arthritis or lyme disease- any ideas, it might be an injury that is worse than the doctor said. any idea? The doctor thinks it should be healead already, but she doesn;’t know children h ow they wont; listen and not run on it!
does it at all sound like a meniscus injury, it doesnt; hurt to walk on it but it did when she first injured it. It hurts to stretch it.
I put my sweet 8 year old beagle to sleep two days ago. I miss her terribly, and am currently in the denial stage. I feel like I killed my best friend, and am hating myself for it.
She had moderate hip dysplasia, severe arthritis, and a mammary tumor the size of a softball. We opted against surgery, there’s a long story there, but we following her with X-Rays and bloodwork every 4-6 weeks.
The beginning of last week our dog began to decline. She had some confusion, difficulty with stairs, not as perky, slight diarrhea, some rhythmic vibrating, not quite shaking. We took her in again for a check up, as we were nearly due anyway. So, after another round of X-Rays, vet was fairly certain it was metastatic, it looked like we had colonies near her heart and lungs. Vet thought we were looking at a few months with her. She prescribed Rimadyl. Since we’d need bloodwork in just two week, and it had been fine five weeks earlier, we did not do bloodwork this time.
I held off on the Rimadyl to see what her diarrhea would do. It was hit or miss. Fine, diarrhea, fine again, etc. Finally, she seemed to be in even more pain on Sunday, and she hadn’t had any diarrhea, so I tried the Rimadyl. She started vomiting three hours later and never stopped. She even vomited plain water. She was shaking more often, standing up, turning in a circle, laying back down. Began with bloody stools. She was very unhappy, looked sad, eyes were tearing a lot. Had trouble getting on and off couch. Peeing anywhere, not like loss of function, but like confused and oh, crap, I have to pee, so she’d squat.
Once my husband was home we took her to the emergency vet. We decided against a consultation, and had her put to sleep, while holding her in our arms. Now I worry we were hasty. She was just so miserable, and to be honest, I had a hard time seeing her in so much pain. I know we could have tried IV fluids, etc, seen if she came around, and now I’ll never know if we’d have had our last couple months.
I am in shock. It happened so quickly. So I ask you all, would you have tried more treatment? I know, an unfair question, but would love your honest opinions. I wish we had done an autopsy. I’d love to know what actually made her that sick that day. Cancer, the meds, etc.
I have an almost 12yr old german shepherd/ chow mix. Shes been showing some symptoms that something is wrong with her. The “ER” vet found that her glucose was way too low about a 35 and since he observe her for a few hrs after feeding her he came with the conclusion that he really suspects a insulinoma cancer tumor. She hasn’t been diagnosed for sure b/c she seemed fine the next day when I took her to her reg vet. But I saw her face twitching yesterday and she was walking wobbly. It broke my heart to see her like that so I gave her the predsodine the vet gave for her “possible” insulinoma. Im so sad by this if that is the case. I’ve read and honestly I dont have the money for the best treatment which will be surgery which increases life span a bit but theres a big possibility it will return. Im so torn by this I don’t know if I should go in debt. I know she’s def worth it (i love her very much) but I just don’t have the money :’( What would you do? Among that she has bad arthritis :’( Right now she ok but I don’t know what to do if the progresses….
