My daughter’s knee was swollen for about 4 weeks. I thought she had bumped it on something, or that it might be arthritis. Still the same, so we went to an orthopedist, who said it may be lyme disease. First, he took an xray to make sure nothing was broken. Nothing showed up on the xray. Then he said the way to know it wasn’t lyme was to remove fluid from the side of the knee. The needle was the largest I had ever seen; my daughter was not prepared for it (neither was I) and didnt think it would hurt so much, and during the procedure ( even though the part was numbed with something very cold) it still hurt she was in so much pain that it had to be stopped in order to use a smaller needle. I asked myself, why didnt he use the smaller one in the first place?
He said that if it is not lyme d., then he would have an MRI taken.
I had some problems with my knee once and had another doctor take an xray, and later an MRI showed a torn meniscus. I’m not questioning what can be wrong with my daughter’s knee, but the procedure which I think was too harsh and unnecessary. Am I wrong in thinking this way?
Serious answers only: Will get reported if you post to get points:
Well this has been going for a whyle now but this is starting to really affect my marriage and me and my huband never fight so im looking for outside help since talking to my mother isnt working.
My mother is about 47 i think, she had her euterus taken out so she is not having her cycle no more. She is moody, has night sweats, BOY did i say she is moody. and she has really bad arthritis. anyways those are some symptoms of menopause. But since she doesnt have her cycle she doesnt think she can get it.
Anyways my mother has an on going battle with my husband for i have no idea what reason, and it doesnt help that we live right next to her. I have a 7 month old son and well anyways she gets in his business.. she ask me why dont i care who he is talking to and just jealous things.
Main point is that she is driving my husband crazy, she tells him things that really Pizz him off and he is sick of it.
i need to know how i can convince her to get medication for her menopause. she is going to end up messing my relationship up because she is always going crazy on how my husband always wants to spend time with hers and when they go out she makes up stories that they are out cheating or something. SHE IS CRAZY and its impossible to live with her yet alone NEXT TO HER… i need some help i need her to get medication she is CRAZY
i love my mom and i love my husband the same, its hard to work at a customer service place listening to people complain for 8 hours and then i have to come home to my husband talking bad things about my mother and my mother talking bad things about my husband. All i want is peace. My step dad has had more than enough of it to, and my brother doesnt even bother passing by the house anymore. Its tearing the family appart. She is also having financial problems and i believe its due to the menopause she buys things she dont need and just a lot of things…. There is not enough characters for me to even go into detail SHE JUST NEEDS HELP!!!!!!!!!
Our 6 year old pit mix has suddenly started limping. He barely gets up off the couch now, even after getting him his favorite toys, he moved a little bit, but now just a wagging tail and lifting his head. He was shaking pretty badly, so i thought he ate something b/c he has a history. But when I noticed when he stood up he had his leg kind of straight and won’t put a lot of pressure on it, i thought he pulled something since it was so sudden. then i thought maybe arthritis b/c of his age. after doing research, i think it is ACL. I had to hand feed him and water him today, so that ruled out stomach issues. he goes outside but just stands on the porch til i let him back in. he is usually a big fun loving dog that will run to you when you walk in the door, or if he smells food being cooked…he even follows us to the bathroom. but he mainly just lays there. I feel so bad for him. he only whined a couple of times when he was standing.
We plan on taking him to the vet this week, but how much are x-rays/MRIs without insurance? I know that the MRI is what will for sure tell you b/c i have had ACL reconstruction done personally. Pain meds? What kind of pain meds are they? What can we do to help him at home? Heat therapy? Wraps?
Any advice would really be helpful!!!!
Is there any way that it may be bone cancer? I wasn’t sure how immediate effects are.. know they say the symptoms can go from moderate to severe in short time period and then the dog only has a 4-5 month lime frame. Then I think I am over exaggerating. He is also a huge baby who likes attention and laying on the couch..and he would shake in the past to get attention, we would take him to the oh so expensive emergency vet and nothing would be wrong with him. He does have a, what I first called a “sking tag or mole”, but after research maybe it is a fatty tumor? its in the middle of his tailbone and it is about the size of my pinky mail. feels soft and hangs a little over in a upside down heart shape. it is black and pink splotchy. i just noticed it a few weeks ago and thought, maybe the sun from the sun caused a mole. he is whit coated with short hair so the sun can irritate his skin. i dont think it has gorwn any though, so that is something else ot get looked at. suggestions on that?
Does anyone else have Sciatica (nerve down the leg that radiates almost electrical shock feeling and numbness in the foot or leg)? It doesn’t feel like my back hurts, but it’s my buttock, one side only. Sometimes the pain is so bad I almost cry. What can you do to treat this and how long will it last? I have osteo-arthritis in my lower back, and sometimes I feel this pain may never go away because of the condition of my spine. I truly feel for anyone who has this condition. I’ve heard of it before, but never imagined so much pain!!!
Have a remicade treatment MON just found out I have Pulrisy. Will they still let me get my Remicade?
Will they still let me get my remicade? I found out Friday about the plurisy in my left lung. They have me on Vicodin and Naproxen…. I’m doing so much better but really could use the remicade for my Crohns and Arthritis.
Wow Thanks for all the Definitions. I was just kinda asking if anyone else out there has had a viral infection and still was able to receive their remicade? Guess I worded it wrong. Thanks for all the info though I appreciate it.
I had a bulls-eye rash in early September and have just now found out that I had some positive results on a Lyme test (positive IgM Western blot, I believe, but other results were inconclusive or negative). My doctor gave me Amoxicillin to take three times a day for 10 days. Is this sufficient to treat my Lyme. I spoke with someone with chronic Lyme and she said I would need 6 months worth of Doxycycline. I’m so confused and don’t know who to trust. A month after the bite I had migratory arthritis from my feet all the way up to my neck, but now it is just in my knees along with numbness in my legs. Any thoughts?
I don’t know if there’s any typical age for onset for osteoarthritis, but I’m 55 years old.I have arthritis throughut my body, and of course my hands. I’m taking acetominophen with codeine. The codeine makes me tired but relieves some of the pain after a couple of hours. I don’t want to continue taking the amount of this medication if there’s a good exercise regime instead.
Would Tai Chi for seniors work? Or would an easy Yoga be better? I’m in chronic pain and the onset was very rapid. I’d appreciate any advice.
WHAT IS KNOWN AS “PRO-LO “PROCEDURE FOR KNEE ARTHRITIS, AND THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF DR. LARRY WANG MD.
I suffer from chronic tension headaches. I have seen a neaurologist and they said I have a bulging disk in my neck. Also I have recently had a car accident and was in a halo for 3 months, so have arthritis on top of that. I get prescribed pain medicine but it doesnt always seem to work. I would love some feedback from other sufferer’s on what works for them. I have tried many prescriptions and few have worked. I also get migraines at least once a month. Thank you for your time!
