I went to the neurologist with aching pain through my entire right arm, including my elbow, wrist, and fingers. Sometimes it even hurts to breathe from the pain in my back. The MRI showed that I have minor degenerative arthritis and a small disk protrusion at c5-c6. I have been in terrible pain and thought I would finally receive some treatment. My neurologist wrote the results in a letter to me, as I read to the end he said he couldn’t understand where my pain could be coming from and said he had no treatment for me. Am I crazy? Isn’t c5-c6 where the nerves run into the arms and even down to the fingers. Could anyone help me understand this? Is it because the protrusion is small?

The muscles behind my left shoulder blade ache and burn and sore to the touch. I get relief when I can afford a massage. Is there a medicine or therapy I can do to stop the pain. I was told that it is a chronic condition.

My mother got a pain and swelling in her joint at her hand yesterday and went to the clinic in the evening. She has to go back no so they can intervenely (sp?) send antibiotics through one of her arms to the other.

Has anyone had arthritis problems this bad before? I remember most arthritis problems ask to take pills, is this common what my mother is going through?

I am in the military and was told i had osteoarthritis in my neck. i have pain and all that, but I also have been having balance issues. I have looked up neck osteoarthritis and it says loss of balance as a symptom but i can’t seem to find out why. can anyone explain why this happens?

I am posting this question for my mom. I know that the best thing to do is seek a physician’s opinion, but my mom will not go. She puts it off and is stubborn.

Earlier today, my mom took a dizzy spell and fell on to the coffee table in our living room. She said she didn’t black out, but I am unsure. She said she had been dizzy most of the day. As of late, she has been complaining of her arms (shoulders specifically, and all down her arms) hurting. She did go see a dr a few weeks ago who put her on an arthritis medicine. Could that med have caused a dizzy spell? Also, she says she feels like she is constantly hungry. I have considered diabetes (I work for a doc. and was taking medical classes and some smptoms are similar to diabetes, but I don’t know).

Does anyone know what this could be?

I have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis. So, I am new to this. I was just wondering if someone could please tell me the reason to why you get this disease and if it is anything that a doctor could give you to cure it? Will medication help this disease or will it just be a waste of time trying to take medication for it? I have been in so much pain for the last few weeks behind this illness and I am currently going to the therapist to do some exercises on the foot that is messed up. I was just wondering if I could get some kind of advice on this sickness and if there is somethinf I can do or get to help my siguation?

My grandfather noticed this supplement, Instaflex Joint Support, and asked me to purchase it for my Grandmother, who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and often has intense joint pain in her shoulder, hands, as well as other joints. She started taking this all natural supplement and was noticing fantastic results! She normally has to take arthritic tylenol daily, but after a couple weeks of taking this supplement she was taking NONE!! It was working great for her and we really like the idea that it was all natural! :)
But recently she quit taking it as it started to cause her to have indigestion, to a point where it was bothersome.
My Question is, Is there anything she can do to ease the indigestion from this so she can continue to take it? I believe she was eating a little something prior to taking them, as she does this with her regular prescription meds, anything you can suggest would be much appreciated as she would love to continue to take this and reap the benefits, but would like to overcome the side effect of the indigestion…I’ve included the supplement information below to see if perhaps one of the ingredients is perhaps the culprit?
Thanx much!

I have 5 kinds of crippling Arthritis, can barely walk and use a wheelchair, cannot exercise. My steroid drugs and other medications and the inability to burn calories or move my body has made losing weight impossible. On an average day I eat less than 550 calories. I eat the same thing almost every day. A handful of Jelly Bellys with coffee for breakfast, more coffee for lunch and a protien bar for dinner. 1/2 cup of low fat, frozen yogurt is my last meal of the day. I take loads of vitamins. I do nibble Jelly Bellys (four calories each, no fat) during late aft and do not count how many I eat. given my diet, I need to stop them but every time I have tried, I couldn’t do it! I take lots of pain meds, never get high or take more than prescribed and am a very disciplined person but need some help on how to quit these Jelly Beans! When I try to eat small, healthy meals I gain more weight! My theory is that I am using sugar for energy and storing the rest. Can anyone tell me how to detox?
Perhaps I was unclear. I obviously know not to buy them but I crave them and want to know how to stop the craving, how long it might last, how many days it takes to lose the craving, that sort of thing. I am unable to shop and my family is not supportive about it because in their well meaning love they feel I should not give up my only fun pleasure (food wise) because of my pain and suffering. More about breaking the addiction please? Thank you.
One more thing…I don’t eat cookies, cakes, sugary treats, chocolate, none of those things! Just those damn Jelly Beans. Sometimes I think they must have Estrogen in them since I am in Menopause and so many of my friends love them too! lol

I understand what it is but it all started when i went to the eye doctor (5-7) for new glasses when he checked my eyes he said i have an inflammation of white blood cells in my eyes and sent me to a specialist in retinas my appointment (5-8) the specialist says hes surprised i don’t have pain and that i need to go to another specialist for a second (or third, whatever you want to call it) opinion and to see if i have to have treatment
