However, over the past week or two, she has been showing signs of arthritis. She can’t get up on the couch anymore, or go up the stairs without stopping every few steps.

I know arthritis is common in larger dogs, but I’ve never heard of small dogs developing it.
Should I be worried about this? Could it be a sign of something more serious?

Hello, I have a question about Chosamin DS( a joint health supplement). I am 21 years old that is a bit overweight so I have been running alot lately and my knees have started hurting(patellar tendinitis). Would this supplement be a good idea to take to make it easier to run and prevent damage to my knee while I lose weight? Because it seems like it’s mostly elderly people with arthritis taking it and they make it seem like they all have severe chronic conditions when they say “the pain comes back if I miss a few days of taking it”. I just want to take it as a precautionary measure to keep my knees healthy while I run large amounts. This post isn’t a question about how much I should be running but only about this particular supplement. Please let me know if this would be a good idea to add to my supplementation regimen just until my weight goes back down from around 210 to 170 because I didn’t have knee pain when I weighed that. The cost isn’t a problem I just want to do EVERYTHING possible to get me running everyday and down to my running weight again as fast as possible. Thanks
Thanks for your advice. And I am well aware of the supplement scam for fat burners and muscle builders and all that jazz. I only take a nutrilite multivitamin, a fish oil, and vitamin-C. I was only considering this because of the very high reviews it has recieved online, almost 90% of the people who reviewed it on amazon said it really helped.

I have a golden retriever/collie mix and I have had him for 8 years. I got him from a friend who got him from someone else. I’m not sure how old he is. I think when I got him from my friend they said he may be 4 years old. So that could make him 12 years old. I took him to the vet because my sister and my dad said it may be time to put him down. The reason he went was because of his arthritis. He is having a hard time getting up and sitting back down. He cant walk up stairs or down stairs without help. I took him to the vet and the vet gave him an exam and he said his mouth was infected and to fix the mouth he would have to take some teeth out and he would need to take medicine for that. Also, when my dog walks his back legs get crossed and the vet said that was not normal. Also, he wont lift his leg anymore to pee like he used to. The vet said there are pills to help the arthritis, but I’m not sure if I want to give him pills for the rest of his life. The vet said there is nothing he could do that could cure him from anything he had. My gut reaction was to put him down. He just is not happy anymore. He used to jump on top of me and greet everyone when they came home. Now he just lays down. The vet also said his sight was going.

One time I saw him clinging on the top of the stairs because he didnt have the strenght to get to the top. I asked him if he wanted me to put him down or give him meds and he just went and layed down.
I forgot to say we did try some meds when he started having problems and it didn’t work.
