i have been feeling ill for quite awhile, i was dx with fibromyalgia about 2 years ago, the drs. knew i had some form of auto immune disorder but havent aggressivly searched for anything, recently had a bone scan done and shown that in shoulders, elbows wrists, knees, there was evidence of degeneritive arothopy, my pain mgt. dr. advised me to go to a rheumy. i got in with in 1 week, this should of been my first clue, the dr spent less then 10 mins with me , but did order blood work, on my ana 12 profile it came back positive, speckled, and the titerwas 1:40 my complement c4 was 15. my cardiolipin was18.6 anti-ds dna ab by farr was 2.8, anion gap 19.0 and rdw was 15.9and my crp was 11.4, my question is i have suspected that i have had lupus for awhile, i have all the classic symptoms, but my first visit with the rheumy, he automaticly without haveing any previous history said i dont think you have lupus or rheumotoid arthritis, and without seeing blood work, does anyone have any answer
there are some times within a day that a sudden pain in my fingertips/toes come.
they come in either one finger/toe or clusters.
this is kinda disturbing me for some time now.
i need to know what could this be a symptom of.
i’ve no arthritis or anything and i don’t usually engage in sports so this probably ain’t an injury.
diabetic people’s blood doesn’t clot very well, does it?
Here is a little background! I have 5 slipped discs – each have their own problem but here are the main things….I have arthritis in 4 of them, 1 of them has an annular tear plus I have mild scoliosis. My primary care physician had me on Lortab 7.5mg 2x’s / day – which is only helping some but could use better relief obviously. I was sent to a pain management specialist and had my appointment today where I had filled the new patient paperwork, etc.
The PA came back and examined me and went over my paperwork doing the usual routine then the Dr. came in. We discussed my problems, treatments such as epidural injections, physical therapy and medications. He had stated that I would need to submit a urine specimen before he could start me on any medication which was completely fine. When we’re finished talking, he leaves and a Nurse comes in, gives me the cup and shows me where the bathroom is, I get it taken care of, give it to the Nurse and go back to the room. The PA came in with the Physical Therapy form to take to any place
I needs someones help badly! so my mom was diagnosed with arthritis… we are not sure what type of arthritis at the moment. Her symptoms are pain on her arms and hands a couple of days her hands swelled up and got numb. She hasn’t been to the hospital in the US because she has not worked in 2 years and she has no health insurance. She is legal in the state, has been for years. I keep asking her to go to the hospital and ill try to pay for it, but she refuses. She is one month away from getting health insurance at her new job but lately her arthritis has gotten worse. She can’t sleep, nore drive her car without causing her pain. I don’t know what to do! can someone find some kind of information behind this? also if you happen to live in Arizona or California and know of any specialist on arthritis please let me know!
my dog has puppy arthritis should clear up by age of 2.i would like to start making home food for him witch would help his joints/bones and help with healing any recipes or suggestions?
Thanks in advance to everybody who gives a valid answer.
I am a 21yr old F and have been having back/joint problems all my life however i have been having major back/joint problems since the beginning of the year, i am getting worse week by week.
Do the following symptoms sound like arthritis? (I know nobody here can give definitive answers, but i’m getting nowhere with my doc or physio.
* When i wake up in the morning i am very stiff.
* Lots of clicking, popping, grinding in my lower back, hips and neck. (My lower back feels like sombody is squashing it)
* Tingling and shooting pains sometimes down legs and arms.
* Can’t sit for lengthy periods
* can’t stand for lengthy periods. (I have to do everything in moderation.)
* Headaches from neck pain.
I have not had an accident or suffered any truama. i am fit and healthy. i know i need to either see another doctor or physio,
i have been offered a job i really want, it means moving house and i want to be sure before i go ahead that i can do it.
Do you think it’s spinal arthritis?
erm, i was never looked at for scoliosis as a child, but the physio has had a look and it doesn’t look like it. The doctor hasn’t yet done anything cos she thinks young people can’t get arthritis.
i have a comfy bed (not too comfy, but nothing wrong with it), my posture is ok, i drink lots of water and lots of fruit, i don’t drink and i don’t eat much sweet stuff and rarely processed food.
I have heard horrible stories about going to get a second opinion and then having the Dr. who originally recommended a surgical procedure to you deny further services to you. I have been dealing with nerve pain and numbness in my left foot for over a year now. All symptoms and MRI’s point to back problems including a bulging L5 disc and two annular tears in the discs next to the L5 disc. I have had back pain for longer than I can remember, probably since 2000-2001. Maybe earlier. I have been through physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, epidural injections and nothing seems to help my problems. Recently, the Orthopedic Dr. I having been seeing for injections recommended a Spinal Fusion. I am just worried a Spinal Fusion is a bit drastic. Should I get a second opinion? How do I go about getting a second opinion without offending my Doctors? Any advice would be appreciated!
Additional info: I’m a 30yr old mother of two. I have arthritis and Degenerative Disc Disease in my back also.
My English Springer Spaniel was recently diagnosed with some mild arthritis in her back leg knees…what precautions should I take (even though it isnt severe) in terms of her exercise, etc.? Maybe someone has had a dog with arthritis as well and has some advice? My main goal is to keep her arthritis mild or even for it to get better so I’m wondering whether dogs with arthritis need to be walked less or even if walking is better for them? Or maybe some special stretches? Anyways, any kind of suggestion would be greatly appreciated
