Good Morning,Last night my cat died. I don’t know how old she was, because we found her. About a year ago, she started developing symptoms that seen like arthritis, she could no longer jump up on the bed or chair. But she was still happy, eating and playing. Last night she let out this terrible cry, started stumbling like her back legs gave out, then it looked she had a seizure her whole body started shaking and her mouth sagged on 1 side then she could not move , as if she was paralyzed, she could not even lift her head, ,we made her comfortable waiting for a vet to open in our area, she was 3am , then suddenly she gasped twice for air and then died. Please help me to figure out what happened to my cat or could she have been saved if there was emergency services for animals open? Also my 2 children are devastated as well as myself and my husband should we get a kitten to help with the pain?

what is the symptom and sign of them??
please help me…

She’s a mixed breed terrier, 14 yrs. old, has arthritis, and she’s stopped eating the drinking water.

Okay, So I get these “episodes” of HORRIBLE pain. The pain is ONLY in my joints, no where else. It hurts to pick up my cell phone, it hurts to type on the computer, to walk, even to just lay down. And its not just any specific joint, its all of them. All my fingers, my toes, my knees, elbows, etc.. About 8 months ago it was so bad I went to the ER twice in one weekend (this was my first real episode). The first night they sent me home, and the next day i returned cause it got even worse. They did some testing and told me my results came back negative for Lyme, Lupus and Juvinial Arthritis. I wasn’t in the hospital very long, and I thought this was very quick to get results back for any of these things. They released me, told me to follow up with my PCP, which I did but because the hospitals results came back neg. they haven’t tested me since.

I guess my question is, if the first test came back neg for Lyme does that usually mean its neg? Or does it take more than one test? I’m in the middle of an episode now and its killing me. I’m also switching PCP so hopefully I will get somewhere with that. I’m only 21 and I really don’t think I should be in this much pain from my joints.

**I have no idea if this is even what Lyme feels like, but when I describe it to people I work with and family they insist that it is Lyme**

Thank you for taking the time to read this and responding!

this saturday i went to the vet,and i thought my dog had arthritis in his back legs.i was then told he had a tumor. i went in thinking it was old age causing him not to be able to get up at times. i had to put him to sleep, i kissed him until he stopped breathing after the injection. i miss him so much he was the only thing i had in my life that i loved dearly. i don’t think i can go on i am in agony should i follow him to heaven?

My older dog has problems with “doggy dementia”. Other than the occasional confusion & staring into space stuff, she is pretty spry-well she also has arthritis. A few wks ago she had a 24 hr. spree of severe vomiting. I took her to the vet and other than a GI infection, she was fine. The vet cost $700. I don’t have experience w/older dogs…and want some general guidelines as to what does and does not warrant a trip to the vet. In this instance, I was afraid of dehydration issues.

I have a few questions for you that are crucial, and may lead to a cure:

1) Do you or have you ever smoked?
2) what is the severity level of your pain from a scale of 1-10 with 10 being completely immoble
3) do certain foods make you sick?
4) Do you drink?
5) what age did RA start for you
6) where do you feel pain?

If you answer just 1 question that’s good enough for me, if you can answer these questions for someone else that’s good to.
oh and do you take anything with nicotine, such as nicorete gum?

I am in nursing school and one of my patients takes this for arthritis. Our pharmacology book has a lot of herbal drugs listed in it, but not this one. I know there is some stuff online about it, but I don’t know how much of it is legit.
