Product Description
Avoiding hard-to-understand medical jargon, the four-volume “Gale Encyclopedia of Children’s Health” uses language that parents can understand, while still providing enough depth to benefit today’s health science students. The set provides in-depth coverage of pediatric diseases and disorders, along with issues related to physical and cognitive/behavioral development.
I have this non-stop, dull achy pain, that I have had since I was about 12 years old (I’m 17 now). It’s mostly in my wrists and thumbs, and some of my fingers. Some times the muscles spasm (sort of) momentarily and I drop what I am holding and have worsened pains that last a few minutes. Also, my thumbs, wrists and fingers feel stiff lots of times. It makes it hard to write, type (not as bad though, I’d much rather type than use a pen), play the flute/clarinet/sax/piano and hold things. It’s a lot worse in my write hand/wrist and the right is also slightly larger than my left, and I used to get ganglions on my wrist as well, but I have not had any for about a year. And now this has started happening in my knee, where it spasm and hurts.
I don’t know if this is relevant, but I also have a recurring blotchy, dry rash, that comes and goes and has since around the time the pain started.
I’m not trying to self diagnose, I have an apointment in two weeks with my GP, I was just curious what you people think.
Well I am a 14 year old male, and every time I wake up ALL of my joints are very stiff, I have to stretch and “pop” my joints jest to make them better. I have pain in my neck just below my head, and sometimes I have difficulty turning my head. Also, I have this “weird” feeling in the curve in my back, sometimes it’s painful but at others it’s just very uncomfortable. (Im not sure if this will help but one of my legs is longer than the other.)
Thanks guys!
I also have inflamation of the eye. My finger and elbow joints are also sometimes painful and a little swolen. They are both stiff and hard to move when I wake up.

im about 14 and a half, and i have had joint pains for over 2 years now, first in my right shoulder for about a year, then recently in my left hip, and now my left shoulder is starting to hurt. Today it felt like it was going to go numb and after i was resting it felt kind of stiff. i once had back pains a few years back. and when i played basketball i always wore ankles braces because they would start hurting. (i have sprained both my ankles though, in none basketball related thing)
I would like to figure out why my body is hurting all the time for no reason??
She was diagnosed at age 18 months and is turning 19 in May. We need to find an adult doctor in Pennsylvania. She was going to a Childrens Hospital, but wants to be treated like an adult. Anybody know good rheumatologist near Valley Forge area?
hi i have jra and i am 16 im thinking of publishing a book on it for ages 12-18. They will give me there stories and ill put it together with my story. I want them to realize they are not alone.. we are all going through the same thing and the same medicine that is making us sick every time we take it… Do you think this will be a good idea?
I’m 16, and was diagnosed with JRA when I was 11. I have Polyarticular JRA. I’ve been having issues with the lower right side of my stomach, it’s not appendicitis. Could this possibly be due to my arthritis? I’ve already went to the doctor and they said possibly an ovarian cyst.
It’s a really sharp, stabbing pain that makes me double over and want to put really hard pressure on the area.
I’m worried and it’s quite painful.
Help please?
