I am 18 years old and have no history of chronic illness or cancer in my family. Recently I have experienced dull pain in my forearms and in my joints of my hands. I have no other symptoms, but i have experienced the pain for at least two weeks on and mostly off. I am still active, i have no fatigue, and my skin looks completely normal. I think I am too young to have arthritis, so does that mean I might have leukemia or bone cancer?
Thanks.
I may or may not have lupus (tests are inconclusive right now). But I’m 19 and I do have pretty bad arthritis. My hands, my hips and my back hurt so much I can hardly walk at times, which make me sad since I used to athletic and now I’m barely toned.
Anyway, my doctor doesn’t give me many options. I can’t have a regular prescription for pain medication. NSAIDs do nothing. I take ibuprofen every four hours, but I wish there was a way to just get rid of the joint pain.
Does anyone know of alternative treatments? I don’t know what else is out there.
My dog has considerable arthritis in both elbows due to dysplasia. She weighs 70lbs. She is on pain meds and needs to be on a supplement. However different products recommend different dosages. The one I’m considering getting has 500mg glucosamine, 400mg chondroitin, 100mg MSM, 100mg perna mussel. The one my vet wants to sell me is very expensive and contains 900mg glucosamine, 350mg chondroitin, 800mg MSM. The one i’m considering says one per 75lbs but I was considering doubling it up to get the dosage closer the one the vet recommends and possibly add a MSM or MSM glucosamine capsule if necessary it is also $62 cheaper plus contains perna mussel. There is another that is available from drs foster and smith that contains 1000mg glucosamine, 600mg perna mussel, 1000mg MSM, but contains no chondroitin. What is a theraputic dose and what is overkill?
Ok so my mom is in her late 40’s. She is in good health, besides her slight high blood pressure and seasonal allergies. Out of nowhere she started getting really bad joint pain in her knees.
She describes it as a pulling and sometimes a little cracking sensation in her knees, the pain travels up and down the back of her leg. Today a wierd symptom emerged, she had joint pain in her toes and feet.
She is pretty active normally, I can’t think of anything that could have caused this that was in her control.
Does anyone have ideas of diseases or links to this type of pain? I read something about Crohns disease…idk she thinks it might be early arthritis, but I argued that it wouldn’t feel like how she describes because my grandmother has osteo arthritis.
She is currently changing her primary care doctor after a terrible experience with her current one. Until then can someone tell me some common treatments that can be done at home for the pain in her legs?
Thanks!
Hi, I am a 16 year old female.
I am active in dance and have been for the past 9 years.
After this past season I experienced back pain the week after it ended, which is normal.
The problem is that now it has been about a month since the season ended. The back pain has continued. Towards the end of the season I was experiencing shoulder pain in both of my shoulders and periodic, but minimal pain in my ankle and knee. I hurt my knee and ankle in the past though, so this pain usually occurs as well. Now a month later, I still have back pain that is constant throughout the day. My shoulders hurt and withing the past two weeks I’ve started having neck pain (Stiffness,etc.). I also have elbow pain periodically as well as my wrist.
I don’t know if this is just caused by overuse (Due to my 6 month season) or if it may be symptoms of a disease (arthritis, etc.). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I am 30 years old, and every once in a while I have some sort of joint pain “flare up” – almost always in my ankle, the top of my foot (not my big toe) or my knee.
It USUALLY lasts 3 days. It’s mildly annoying the first day, super painful the next day (so I can just barely walk) and then stiff and a little pain the third day. By the fourth day it usually just feels a little stiff with no pain.
Is this likely something like Gout or some other form of arthritis? I dont have other symptoms (that I am aware of, anyway…)
I am 31 yrs old and from some months until now I have been feeling extremely tired, besides that I wake up with terrible muscle and joint pains. I went to see if my thyroid was ok and my blood and urine tests came out a bit weird but nothing alarming so they retest my blood and everything came out fine. I kept feeling tired, my right hand fingers (2 of them) started to swell and get hot from one day to another my neck started hurting a lot and my hair started to fall out. Went to see the doctor this time a new one, he sent me for a MRI and blood test for Rheumatoid factor, sedimentation rate, ANA, HIV, hormones, etc. Everything came out fine except my ANA test which came out + with and 80% speckled and my MRI showed degenerative changes in my C6-C7. He wants to give me antimalarial medicine but I don’t want to take it before I know what I have, has anybody gone throu something similar and know what it is? He says it could be arthritis, but does arthritis give you all this symptoms?
it pretty much hurts in my elbows knees wrists and sometimes my fingers. even though im only 18,could i have arthritis or is this even symptoms of a form of arthritis?
I’ve been having problems for the last few years, and my doctors haven’t been very helpful at all. I have quite a few symptoms, and I thought they might be related. They are: Joint pain in every joint in my body with the most severe and sometimes crippling pains being in my knees, back, and shoulders. I have patches of dry itchy skin constantly on my elbows and toes. My hands and feet get cold very easily and are hard to warm up. my arms go numb if I leave them above my head for too long. Every bone in my body pops, even my jaw. I have had occasional palpitations in my heart. mild hearing loss, mild hair loss, and I have trouble sleeping sometimes. I am not taking any medication, and I have been tested for thyroid problems, rhumetoid arthritis, and hypertension. my bloodwork always looks okay, and other than a regiment of accutene in 2004, I have not taken any medicine at all other than antibiotics in my entire life. I am a 24 year old male smoker but very athletic
I’m 21, 5′2 105lbs. For the last few years I’ve had minor joint pain in my finger with some stiffness, Lately however its gotten worse, now affecting my ankles and wrists as well. my mom has arthritis and my grandmother had very sever rheumatoid arthritis. I was just curious if I could be showing symptoms at my age, if it helps there is no history of trauma to the joints that hurt.
