I noticed that my dog had a small cluster of about what looks to be about 7 sores/blisters on her lips and nose, there are about 7 of them. They don’t seem to be causing him any kind of pain, and there is no draining, they are just red and look to be swollen

I am sorry for double posting, but it was early, so many people may not have been awake.

There was an incident in my home recently. My brother is very ill, the police in my area are well aware of this, 2.5 years ago he stabbed someone, and he has not been called to court yet.

Last night, my brother snapped out due to withdrawal from opiates, he cut himself, threatened to commit suicide, and exclaimed he was going to kill me, my mother, and father.

He punched my disabled, elderly mother in the leg which was extremely painful for her, she gets spasms all over her body anyway, she cried when he hit her, and my Mother doesn’t cry unless it really hurts, she had to limp over to the bed. She has a collapsed/bulging/ruptured discs, rheumatoid arthritis, neuropathy and a neurostimulator in her back which has wires that connect to her spine, if he had hit her in the right place, he could paralyze her. We called the police, told them everything that happened, my brother had taken off, the officers returned later with paperwork for my mother, they went into his room to make him get up to talk to him, looked at his wrist, one of the officers said it was very deep. He then called an ambulance, my brother refused treatment, which the officer said is his right. My mother and I tried to get it thru their head that he is dangerous and has the characteristics of a murderer, that my brother listens to his music, and fantasizes about different ways to kill us, etc. My brother also told the cops he planned on finding acid and pouring it on my face. They wouldn’t arrest him.

They said the most they could do is tell him he isn’t allowed inside the house for the night, my mother told the officer he would just sneak back in the house thru his window, so the officer went back outside to talk to my brother, and I guess he told him to keep it cool and go to bed. When they left, he went ballistic again, exclaiming how he is an informant for the police, and he can do anything he wants, breaking items, more threatening, shoving me (he scares me so I leave the room.)

Moral of the story is… I don’t think this is right, a friend of mine told me in Delaware it is the law that if there is domestic violence in the house, they HAVE to arrest him. My parents have tried kicking him out, the last time they did he gave us a “warning” by breaking a window, he also said if they do he is going to burn the house down with us in it, I know people make stupid threats all the time, but this kid is capable. My brother is 25 years old.

If anyone could please help me find information on the Delaware Statutes, point me in the right direction, or who I can call to talk to that may be able to override this small police department, please. We are worried about our lives. They did tell her she can put out a warrent, but on the paper they gave her, they put down that the victim was not injured, they said it was nothing more then offensive touching, they also noted that no drugs were involved, even though my mother and I informed them he steals medication from both my mother, and father, and he is on several anti-psychotic medications, that he does not use properly. He takes so many he can’t keep his eyes open. (Today my mother is calling his doctor to inform him of the situation)

They don’t care… Elsmere cops are…. I don’t want to say the word, but I think you’ll get my drift, they just don’t care. I called County, state… Attorney General, Victim assistance. No help, they say call Elsmere, The fact that they put on the paper that my mother was not injured, and no drugs were involved when I told the police he is an addict in withdrawal, concerns me. Cops never protected me…….the cops even lied on the paper they said his weapons were his hands and feet. I am calling them right now. This is so unfair, I don’t want to lose my mother.

The cops have been away for years he is dangerous, and diagnosed with a mental disorder. My Mother and I went up to the police station to talk to Seargent #$%*()#$ and he treated me like shit, I had talked to him before on the phone, on the phone he had this “what do you want me to do about it, on the phone he said there is the PFA, when my mother and I got there…. he gave me the dirtiest look, “I TOLD you on the phone several times about the PFA, oh, so you don’t remember? Do NOT play that game with me!” He approached me very aggressively, (knowing that an officer that was supposed to take me to the hospital smashed my face into the glass window of his car so hard, I had a blood blister on my chin for over a month, permanent scar tissue, and a fractured tooth) I backed away from him, and put my hand out and said please don’t come any closer I don’t want hurt again he said “don’t try that game with me little girl (I am 21) I wont hurt you but I will arrest you” so I walked back to the car
Thank you so much for your information…. When my mother went to the courts, they exclaimed that something is not right, because this is waaaaay beyond offensive touching because my mother is disabled, and the terroristic threatening. When my brother left, he grabbed a knife and took off, I had my German Shepherd track him down, he is currently in the crisis center at a hospital, he will probably end up in a mental institution. But this isn’t over, I am going to a higher authority because the town police in this area are very wrong….

I am a 21yr old F and have been having back/joint problems all my life however i have been having major back/joint problems since the beginning of the year, i am getting worse week by week.
Do the following symptoms sound like arthritis? (I know nobody here can give definitive answers, but i’m getting nowhere with my doc or physio.

* When i wake up in the morning i am very stiff.
* Lots of clicking, popping, grinding in my lower back, hips and neck. (My lower back feels like sombody is squashing it)
* Tingling and shooting pains sometimes down legs and arms.
* Can’t sit for lengthy periods
* can’t stand for lengthy periods. (I have to do everything in moderation.)
* Headaches from neck pain.

I have not had an accident or suffered any truama. i am fit and healthy. i know i need to either see another doctor or physio,
i have been offered a job i really want, it means moving house and i want to be sure before i go ahead that i can do it.

Do you think it’s spinal arthritis?
erm, i was never looked at for scoliosis as a child, but the physio has had a look and it doesn’t look like it. The doctor hasn’t yet done anything cos she thinks young people can’t get arthritis.
i have a comfy bed (not too comfy, but nothing wrong with it), my posture is ok, i drink lots of water and lots of fruit, i don’t drink and i don’t eat much sweet stuff and rarely processed food.

I have NO idea why they wouldn’t take him. I have been up all night, trying to figure this out, on the paper says it was “offensive touching” I mean the threats, the damage, I don’t understand. My brain is fried. A friend of my Mom’s also told her that cops prey on people with mental disorders, to be informers for the neighborhood, her ex was one of them, she was constantly being abused, called the cops.. they never took him out. And the fact that he stabbed someone with a 5” blade, and no court date has been set kind of confuses me.
The police have been coming here for 10 years over his psychotic breakdowns. They know he has a psychiatrist, and that he is bi-polar, ADHD, OCD, abcdefg… and does not use his medication as prescribed, I was going to call his doctor, but I feel it isn’t my business, so I will wait for my mother to wake up and call. I made some phone calls myself, everyone I talked to either acted like “Why are you calling me?” or “call this number” and when I call that number, they give me another one. I live in a sh!tty state. I called the victim line, County can’t do anything, they told me to talk to Elsmere Police, most of which are……..I don’t want to say it on here, but they aren’t the friendliest of people. Out on $60,000 bail, terroristic threatening, hurting his disabled mother, and those $(#(#$)$% cops put down “offensive touching” and “the victim was not injured” I had to rub her leg out last night to try and remove the spasm.
I did find some statutes, he should have been charged with terroristic threatening, and assault. I can’t get over they put on that paper my mother was not injured, she is a STRONG woman, she can take some pain, when she cries, and limps trying to get to the bed after he hurt her, it’s bad. God bless all of you, and I really mean that. Because everyone I called treated me like I was the scum of the earth. I left a message at the attorney generals office, I’ll just have to see what happens. Thank you, really… I’ve been crying all night, because I don’t want my Mommy to be hurt or paralyzed, all it takes is one shot to her hip, or lower spine, and she’s done. They wont remove him….they treated it as an “oh well” situation.

My dad has these symptoms every day. He describes it as tingling. He is 58 years old and bike rides 30 miles a day. He eats healthy and I consider him fit. He smokes cigars occasionally, maybe once every two weeks. He has no allergies but he does have high blood pressure and is currently on medication for it. He has been to a doctor before… they diagnosed him with arthritis but he believes otherwise. Also, is there a type of doctor that specializes in this field? My female Labrador Retriever, Misty, that I would say is roughly about 9-10 years old, has been walking a lot slower than usual, and hasn’t been running and playing with the other dogs as usual. Instead of jumping up and curling up at my side in bed, she’s been laying on the floor, because it’s so hard on her joints to get up on the bed. Is there anything I can make, or buy for her to help her joints? I heard of this fruit drink called Nopalea, but it’s extremely expensive, and is designed for humans anyways, and might not work on her body chemistry. Is there anything I can do/buy to help her? Any and all suggestions are helpful. Thanks.

This is gonna take awhile……I am a 25 year old female. My problems started in May of 2010. I woke up one morning with bad stomach pain and went to the Urgent Care Center. Also had diarrhea and vomiting. Doc said I had food poisoning. Doc did not take a feces sample or perform any tests. He prescribed Phenergan and sent me home. I laid in the bottom of my shower for about 4 or 5 hours that afternoon with hot water beating down on me due to the pain being so terrible. It was the only thing that helped. The next morning, I felt completely fine. Then about a month later I woke up with hip pain and started developing Erythema Nodosum that day and went to the ER that night and told I had EN and it should go away witout treatment within about 8 weeks. It lasted about 10 weeks and during that time I was in awful pain from arthralgia all day every day. Saw the Dr. a few times during this period, was told to take Ibuprofen. Was also tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Do not have RA. Then around the time the arthraligia and EN were resolving I woke up one morning with numb/tingling feet and Vertigo and gave it a few days to go away before I went back to the Dr. Instead of getting better it got worse and started going up my legs and made it to my knees. Went to the ER and the Dr. said I had Anxiety Issues and Parasthesia from the EN. Did not go to the Doc for about 2 months, jut dealt with it and drove myself crazy researching stuff that could be wrong. Brain Tumors, different forms of Cancer etc…….When I went back to the Dr. He referred me to a Cardiologist who tested me for Lyme Disease, Sarcoidosis, CBC, Diabetes, Thyroid. He also performed a Chest XRay, Stress Test and EKG. Chest XRay and EKG were normal. Stress Test wasn’t good. He advised that I take a medication called Lopressor to lower my heart rate since my resting rate was 132. I explained to him that I hadn’t been as scared as I was then since I was going into the OR for a C-Section. I asked the Dr. who referred me to him if I should take it or not. They said if my heart rate continued to be like that then yes. At this point I haven’t taken it. I also at times have difficulty speaking, my face starts feeling strange and then it’s like my words come out garbled cuz I can’t move my tongue right or something. The past few days I have had a strange numb/tingling/minty feeling in my lips, mouth area, gums and tongue. Not sure if this could be related to an abscess tooth I have had for quite some time. My lymph nodes in the right side of my neck have been swollen for about 4 or 5 months. I have pretty much gotten used to the numb tingly feet and hands, also my vertigo ony occurs when I move my head back, side to side, or sometims when I bend over so I try not to do those positions. Been freaked out for months and the new symptoms with the numbness in my face has me even more concerned. Any ideas guys? Thanks so much.

My dog has had a low grade fever and some lameness in her rear legs for 1 month. She has taken several blood tests and theyhave been normal. Even the lyme disease test came back negative. We decided to treat her for lyme disease anyway to see if this would work. She was treated with two types of antibiotics – amoxycillin for 28 days and doxycyline for 14 days. She has been improving, but she is not 100%. She has difficulty lifting herself off the floor/bed and sitting. Once she’s standing she usually walks OK. However, when we have guests, like we did yesterday, she gets very excited. Therefore, she had a set back and began walking very slowly. Perhaps we over did it with the guests : ( She was also tested for immune mediated arthritis. This test also came back negative. However, the vet is now treating her with steroids. Not sure if this is going to work, but I don’t know what else to do. I should also note that x-rays are normal. Any help out there?

My dog has arthritis in his right front paw, he always had but he’s never been bad with it, just a little.
But recently he’s been crying because of it, and he can’t walk properly anymore and has a limp. I’m only 15 and my mum keeps on saying she’ll take him to the vet, but she hasn’t yet. I’m worried about him he’s been my dog since i was 8 and i’m 15 now, i know he’s kind of old but i just want to help him. What can i do at home that might help him? If you know please answer, it would be much appreciated.
