A drunk man who smelled like beer sat down on a subway
next to a priest. The man’s tie was stained, his face was
plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of
gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket.

He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few
minutes the man turned to The priest and asked, “Say
Father, what causes arthritis?”

The priest replies, “My Son, it’s caused by loose living,
Being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, contempt for
your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes and lack
of a bath.”

The drunk muttered in response, “Well, I’ll be damned,”

Then returned to his paper.

The priest, thinking about what He had said, nudged the
man and apologized. “I’m very sorry. I didn’t mean to come on
so strong.

How long have you had arthritis?”

The drunk answered, “I don’t have it, Father. I was just
reading here that the Pope does.”

Disclaimer : It is only a joke to be read, enjoy and make us laugh.

I’m 23, around 5’2 and weigh around 110. I do not want to lose weight, but actually gain some if I can. I should also mention that my diet isn’t bad, since I know exercise and diet go hand in hand. But my main concern is exercise. I am not getting any right now and I don’t want to join a gym or buy workout videos. I also very easily become unmotivated when routines are too complex and you have to remember a bunch of steps (like “sets of reps”). I want to feel and become healthier and my stomach/lower abs are getting a little flabby so I want to target those, while also getting a good cardio.

So this is what I came up with:

10 minutes on an exercise bike as a warm up
10 minutes of bicycle crunches to target the lower body
10 minutes on the exercise bike again to wrap things up and end with cardio.

So a total of 30 minutes of exercise every day.

I was thinking of also climbing up and down the stairs in between the warm up and the bicycle crunches (like 5 min of stairs and 5 min of crunches), but I read that it can be bad on the knees in the long run and, although I don’t have it right now, arthritis runs in my family.

Now, as I already implied, exercise is not my field of expertise (not even close) so if what I wrote above as my plan is beyond dumb, then please feel free to make suggestions, but please be nice about it…thanks

Courtesy: Chiranjeevi:
It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven a its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.
The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure – 30 days
2. Gastric – 10 days
3. Diabetes – 30 days
4. Constipation – 10 days
5. Cancer – 180 days
6. TB – 90 days
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.
This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life.
Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.
This makes sense …. the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals .not cold water. maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain…
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this “sludge” reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

1. Cow’s milk is intended for baby cows. We’re the only species (other than those we are domesticating) that drinks milk after infancy. And, we’re definitely the only ones drinking the milk of a different species.

2. Hormones. Not only are the naturally present hormones in cow’s milk stronger than human hormones, the animals are routinely given steroids and other hormones to plump them up and increase milk production. These hormones can negatively impact humans’ delicate hormonal balance.

3. Most cows are fed inappropriate food. Commercial feed for cows contains all sorts of ingredients that include: genetically modified (GM) corn, GM soy, animal products, chicken manure, cottonseed, pesticides, and antibiotics.

4. Dairy products, when metabolized, are acid-forming. Our bodies are constantly striving for biochemical balance to keep our blood at 7.365 pH. Eating excessive acid-forming products can cause our bodies to overuse some of its acid-balancing mechanisms, one of which is the bones. Alkaline calcium is stored in the bones and released to combat excessive acidity in the body. Over time, bones can become fragile.

5. Research shows that the countries whose citizens consume the most dairy products have the HIGHEST incidence of osteoporosis.

6. Most dairy cows live in confined, inhumane conditions, never seeing the pastures of green grass they were intended to eat.

7. Most dairy products are pasteurized to kill potentially-harmful bacteria. During the pasteurization process, vitamins, proteins, and enzymes are destroyed. Enzymes assist with the digestion process. When they are destroyed through pasteurization, milk becomes harder to digest, therefore putting a strain on our bodies’ enzyme systems.

8. Dairy products are mucous-forming. They can contribute to respiratory disorders. When I remove dairy and sugar from the diets of my clients, they stop experiencing hay fever and seasonal allergies.

9. Research links dairy products with arthritis. In one study on rabbits, scientist Richard Panush was able to PRODUCE inflamed joints in the animals by switching their water to milk. In another study, scientists observed more than a 50% reduction in the pain and swelling of arthritis when participants eliminated milk and dairy products from their diet.

10. Most milk is homogenized, which denatures the milk’s proteins, making it harder to digest. Many peoples’ bodies react to these proteins as though they are “foreign invaders” causing their immune systems to overreact. Research also links homogenized milk to heart disease.

11. Pesticides in cow feed find their way into milk and dairy products that we consume.

http://green.yahoo.com/blog/care2/32/11-reasons-to-stop-eating-dairy.html

Phil, Where did you get your ”research?” Was it from research studies funded and conducted by Monsanto and Monsanto scientists? Every paper claiming the synthetic bovine hormone is ”safe” is industry research.
Phil, you get an “F.”
The maximum-calcium-retention studies of milk’s calcium are short term and therefore have important limitations. To detect how the body adapts to different calcium intakes over a long period of time—and to get the big picture of overall bone strength—requires studies of longer duration.

The results from such long-term studies may be surprising to some. While they do not question the importance of calcium in maximizing bone strength, they cast doubt on the value of consuming the large amounts currently recommended for adults.
Recommendations by the National Academy of Sciences are based on very short-term studies, and are likely to be higher than what people really need. Currently, there’s no good evidence that consuming more than one serving of milk per day in addition to a reasonable diet (which typically provides about 300 milligrams of calcium per day from nondairy sources) will reduce fracture risk.
Studies to this day suggest that high calcium intake doe
doesn’t actually appear to lower a person’s risk for osteoporosis.
Because of unresolved concerns about the risk of ovarian and prostate cancer, it may be prudent to avoid higher intakes of dairy products.

http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/what-should-you-eat/calcium-full-story/index.html#bottom-line

In clinical, longitudinal, retrospective, and cross-sectional studies, neither increased consumption of dairy products, specifically, nor total dietary calcium consumption has shown even a modestly consistent benefit for child or young adult bone health.
Scant evidence supports the claim the intake of dairy product promotes child and adolescent bone mineralization.
