My mom was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and she gets these really bad joint pains to where she is unable to get out of bed at times or even unable to move her fingers. The doctor prescribed her some medications, but none seem to help. Are there any real good home remedies that actually work? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

We have a 14 yr. old Siberian Husky who has developed arthritis. He’s stiff when getting up and sitting/laying down. Because of some elevated liver enzymes, he cannot take any prescription arthritis meds. He is taking Tramadol for pain and a joint supplement (Super Joint Enhancer) from PetMeds. His arthritis has not gotten any worse on the Joint Enhancer, but it hasn’t really made a visible difference either. I found a Joint Rescue and Supplement on petwellbeing.com, but it only has 1 review. There are a bunch of different supplements out there “sworn to work” too. Does anyone give their older dog a supplement for arthritis that has made a big difference & that they would recommend? Jake (our Husky) thanks you!
The Tramadol for pain control is from his Vet, but she suggested we keep him on a supplement as well. The current ones are Glucosamine/Condroitin.

My dog’s arthritis has been getting worse so we took her to the vet. They recommended she loses a little weight. Right now she’s on Beneful dog food. Now when we took her to her normal vet they said that food was fine and to just mix it with Beneful Diet food. But at the animal hospital this morning (she seemed to be in a lot of pain and the vet wasn’t open) they said Beneful was bad and to switch her to Science Diet. However, I read some reviews online that said that dog food was not a good kind. I need to know, I want the best for my dog. P.S. I have an 8 year old mini dachshund.

Good Morning,Last night my cat died. I don’t know how old she was, because we found her. About a year ago, she started developing symptoms that seen like arthritis, she could no longer jump up on the bed or chair. But she was still happy, eating and playing. Last night she let out this terrible cry, started stumbling like her back legs gave out, then it looked she had a seizure her whole body started shaking and her mouth sagged on 1 side then she could not move , as if she was paralyzed, she could not even lift her head, ,we made her comfortable waiting for a vet to open in our area, she was 3am , then suddenly she gasped twice for air and then died. Please help me to figure out what happened to my cat or could she have been saved if there was emergency services for animals open? Also my 2 children are devastated as well as myself and my husband should we get a kitten to help with the pain?

Hi i have a 12 year old german shepeard/cow mix and he has arthritis. Hes not dying or anything but he could really use some medicine. He has troubles getting up on wood because he slips but he gets up ok on carpet. He lays down alot but thats normal for dogs. Starting last November, my knee got really swollen. It was to the point where I couldn’t bend it and the pressure of the fluid caused great pain. I’ve had x-rays, an MRI, and blood tests done that haven’t pinpointed the exact cause. I’ve been seeing a rheumatologist because the doctors suspect I might have rheumatoid arthritis. The medication they gave me worked for a month or two, but my swollen knee is back. I’ve begun to wonder if the doctors really know what’s wrong. I used Webmd and researched pseudogout and gout, which also match my symptoms. Anyone have any idea at all?

I’m 28 and my little sister is 12. Now first I love my little sister very I’m like her second mother. Hell I used to take care of like she was my own. Anyway, my sister gets excellent grades. She is in all accelerated classes and gets straight A’s. She’s on the honor society and the national deans list. She’s plays the piano and is in choir. I am VERY proud of my sister and I brag about her all the time. With that says she gets whatever she wants. Like last week my parents, bought her an IPhone. My brother (22 yrs old) was outraged. In his opinion no 12 yr old should not have an IPhone. Also my sister demands that my mother buys her restaurant food for her school lunch EVERYDAY. To give you a background my mother is 57 yrs and has rheumatiod arthritis. Her hands are severely deformed because of this. Anyway my grandmother is the one that told me about my sister demanding lunch be brought to her everday. When I heard this I was angry. The school she goes to provides them lunch and when I was growing up I had to make my own damn lunch as well as my brothers. I just dont want my sister to grow up thinking she deserves special treatment all her life. In fact, I suggested that once my sister starts high school she could live with me. I live in the city and there’s this wonderful college prep school near my house and my sister could go to. http://uiccollegeprep.org/. My mother said she would think about it.

so for a while a stray dog would come to my house and i would feed her b/c she looked thin and she seemed to be an old dog w/ arthritis. so i feed her whenever she would come to my house and she wouldnt get to close to me since she was scared. i soon found out that she belonged to someone who lives outside the neighborhood.so i reported the person to animal control b/c the dog was thin and the owner allowed the dog to wander and the dog had to cross the street every time it went into the neighborhood.
so a few days later after i emailed animal control i was concern about the dog b/c if she was taken away from the owner and taken to the animal shelter(it a kill shelter) she wouldnt have much of a chance of being adopted since she was old and seemed to have a few medical problems.
so i email animal control again to c what happend and they said that they talk to the owner and she said that the dog was in that condition b/c she was old. and that now she will take her to the vet. i was thinking that it was crazy that she would say b/c she is thin b/c of her age but if she knew that y didnt she take the dog to the vet and take better care of her.
so do u think it was ok that the dog is still going to stay with her or was it ok for animal control to give her another chance and let her take the dog to the vet.
i am happy about what i did and dont regret it since she is getting the medical treatment she deserve.

My 18 year old dog has arthritis and the vet wants to do over $250 of tests before he will write s script.
