17 year girl has been given inj. penidura-la prophylactically , having ASO titre>300 and sever joint pain before 1 year but not a single cardiac symptom or sign , echo findings absolutely clear.

Are there any over the counter medications that I can give my aging pug for arthritis and joint pain? Is it ok to give him Ibuprofen? He weighs almost 40 pounds. Thanks!

I gave my dog his heartworm medication yesterday and today he woke up with either a stiff neck or arthritis pain in his neck. We have given him advil before for his arthritis pain and the vet has OKed this. Is it OK to give him advil so close to giving him his heartworm?

My dog is 10 years old and she has arthritis and I heard giving her massages will help relax her bones. What can I do to make it fun for her like brush her, give her a bath, etc.?

WHat could these symptoms be caused by? I have a few ideas in my head but would really love as much input as possible before my dr ’s appointment…..
Fall 2004- (first most memorable symptom appeared)
Right leg went extremely weak and *wobbly* and I had the worst time walking.

Thoughout the yrs-
Fatigue that never really seemed to improve and over the last month has gotten horrible. I’ve been able to stay up longer sometimes but I can still wake up to eat what my boyfriend has cooked us and then go right back to sleep when im done eating.

Concentration is poor and has been poor only I thought it was add/adhd…Now im wondering (tho I WAS diagnosedat age 14) since it comes and goes and sometimes get’s worse than other times cause when I told a shrink that yrs ago they told me Add/adhd didn’t just come and go.

Tingly/Pins n Needles all over my body.
Tingling esp in my fingertips (always assumed that was from panic attack although at the time I wasn’t even anxoious until I realized they were tingling then I’d start panicking.)

Restless legs/body that get’s really bad while laying down.

My muscles feel like they are jerking on the inside of my body a LOT.

Sometimes my fingers will get *stuck* as I say cause I don’t know how to describe it. Thought it was just bad arthritis from cracking my knuckles even though I AM only 25.

Balance is and has been horrible for quite sometime.

Sometimes I get so spaced out I haven’t got a clue *where* i am. I mean I know about where I am but not in the sense that I could say for example find the car. It takes me a long time to learn new directions. I have forgotten how to get places in the city I was born and raised in. People can tell me something a few times and it won’t sink in. I can be having a conversation with someone and space out so much that I haven’t got a clue what they are saying when I get back into the convo. Even writing this is becoming difficult for me cause I can’t stay on a thought for very long without losing it.

I’ve developed this stutter on occasion.

My eye sight has been bad for quite sometime but now it seems like it is getting worse cause I can’t even read certain things because they all look bunched together and some what blurry.

Ive had headaches for a long time but now it seems lik i have at least one on a daily basis. I feel that feeling like when your head is upside and the blood rushes to your head every so often for no real reason. I have this pressure type pain at the top of my neck and sometimes my whole head.

I’ve been having a hard time thnking of words lately like I will point at something and say That or this instead of what t is because I can’t think of anything other than that or whatever to say.

Dizziness a lot and every so often I fel like the room is spinning.

If I touch a cold floor with my foot even if my foot is in a sock wearing slippers it send a shooting pain through my foot thats incredibly intense kind of feels like a piercing shooting through your foot maybe?

I can’t type worth squat anymore either im CONSTANTLY messing up and it feels somewhat like my fingers have a stuttering problem lol

I feel incredibly detatched from my body at points as well. Kind of like when I look down at my hands they dont seem like mine. Can’t xplain that one much.

Texting has become a nightmare cause I leep screwing up the numbers/letters.

Please ANY input would be so greatly appreciaited. And please no ridiculous answers…Thanks

What is the mg and dosage for her for pain management. I cant remeber if its once a day or twice and I know its one asprine. Does anyone have any other advice for arthritis pain fo her?

I have a retired Service Dog that is exhibiting large masses behind her ribcage and tucked under her hips. Which is a good possibly that she has cancer. I am low income, surviving off of SSI and a Single Parent. So, taking her to a Vet for testing is not a financial burden I can afford right now. She is still eating good, active, and very happy. While, I can tell she is in pain and is slowing down, putting her to sleep right now is not an option. She is an almost 9 yr old Border Collie.
Actually, the masses have been there for awhile. Its only recently, she started to limp and have difficulty getting up on furniture and use the stairs. I gave her an asprin on Friday, but this is not something I want to repeat, but it did help her have more mobility and less pain. A friend recommended Flor Essence tea to help with cancer and Zyflamend to help with arthritic pain.
The masses are about the size of gratefruits, but are tucked under the hips. There are several small masses on many places of her body. 2 new ones on the back of her legs, about the size of golf balls. Unless, anyone can recommend any grants to help with the testing and treatment she will need to make her comfortable. As for putting her down, we don’t believe in putting a dog down, just because they are in pain. Our disabilities we deal with chronic pain and have learned to deal with it, will you put us to sleep, cause we are in pain or help make us comfortable?
We will put an animal to sleep, if their quality of life is severely diminished. Such as not walking, eating, and not able to use the proper facilities. I put to sleep a cat last year, when his chronic health condition deteriorated to the point he was loosing weight, not eating, not grooming himself and not using the litter box. He had a Chronic URI, and the vet said when that time came to put him to sleep.

my afghan hound is 10 years old and starting to be troubled with arthritis. i’m a nurse and so i know that arthritis is effective in relieving human arthritis pain… but i don’t want to poison or overdose my dog. i’m thinking a children’s aspirin might be ok. but not sure. don’t tell me to see a vet … that is NOT an option. i want to hear the experiences of others. and if there are any vets out there who care to share, please do! =D

my friend says it disables them, gives them medical problem like arthritis, and it cause them pain when they move. is all this true?
