my dog is getting older and has arthritis and i am wondering is it safe to give it Tylenol ibuprofen. or will it do more harm then well for poor fido

We have an 18 year old barrel horse with arthritis in his right back leg. What is the best thing to give her for this?

I can tell hes hurting, probably arthritis for being 9 years old

I’m pretty sure it’s just arthritis, but my dog is really sore and he can barely move. If he tries to stand up he starts whimpering. It’s so sad I want to help him, but I don’t think there’s much I can do. Can I give him ibuprofen or something?

if you need to know he’s a 10 year old, soft coated wheaten terrier.
I did massage him, and I’m going to wait another day or so before I take him to the vet. the vet usually says there’s nothing I can do that’ll be $5,000. and the ibuprofen I guessed he probably wouldn’t be able to take it but I just wanted to make sure

not sure if our lab is pregnant yet, but she has been known to have arthritis. is it safe to give her ascriptin for her joint pain?

I think my dog might be getting arthritis, but she’s only two years old. Her back ankles click when she walks and somebody on yahoo said it might be a forerunner to arthritis. If it isn’t would it be bad for her to eat medication treating it?

I was thinking one of these two

My dog has mild arthritis but he is currently going through a rough stage. I spoke to my vet and he has an appt. on Monday; however, in the meantime I am supposed to give him a third of an Ibuprofin one-two times a day, depending on the severity of his condition. I was researching his condition last night though and it said on one of the websites that Ibuprofin is toxic for dogs. Is this true? I’ve given him some this morning and now I’m back to worrying, I need some peace of mind. If it is, what else can I give him?
Alright, three responses say it is toxic. Until his vet appt. in the meantime, what can I give him?
Thanks so much. I’m so upset I gave him some more this morning… I’ll definately keep an eye on him today. I don’t understand why the lady I spoke to at the vet clinic said to give him ibuprofin. I’ll pick up some baby tylenol today and find out what the right dose for him will be.
This question is getting longer and longer. No to tylenol then? I think the glucosamine chondroitin supplement sounds the best- what form can I buy this in at a drugstore?
