I’ve heard , Arizona, Florida or California

I wake up many times during the night in pain. My joints and muscles hurt from head to toe most of the time. I stay tired all the time. My iron level stays low. I am currently on prescribe medication which only helps a little. I really do not like to take medicine and especially when the doctors tells me I have to be on it for the rest of my life. I have tried several different natural remedies but nothing seems to work. I was hoping someone else with these diagnoses has found the miracle cure for this. Thank you and wish you always with good health.

I am a 23 yr. old female and have been living with fibromyalgia and rheum. arthritis for about 2 1/2 years. It all happened after the birth of my daughter. These conditions affect my every day life so negatively that i have trouble performing the easiest tasks. I’m on multiple medicines for these conditions, but nothing eases my pain. I’m on pain relievers as well, but the barely even take the edge off. anyone else dealing with this? What should i do? pain management doc?

I’ve been in severe and constant pain all over my body for the past 8 or 9 months now. Unfortunately, when an MRI was scheduled I was unable to do it because my insurance was shut off. Now I have insurance again because I’m pregnant. My doctor tested me for arthritis and it came out negative and will not test me for anything else until I give birth. Unfortunately this doesn’t help my situation at all considering the pain has gotten increasingly worse, to the point where I can no longer work for a few hours. I’m thinking about going to another doctor because the one I have now just tells me to take tylenol for a day and all my problems should be cured. One problem with that… tylenol has no affect on me. My father has fibromyalgia and so does my brothers girlfriend. Both suggest for me to get tested because I’m showing a lot of signs of it and because I have overactive nerves, I have a good chance of having it. Unfortunately I do not know if I can be tested while pregnant. Googled it and nothing came up. Anyone have any answers?

I am 25 and i have sciatica, mild arthritis and degenerative discs in my lower back. i also have pain eveywhere else in my body with no exlpanation- stiffness in my joints, especially knees, hips, wrists, elbows. i get spasms from time to time in my legs, both my legs hurt like hell all the time and they tingle, and i have to constantly find new postions for them to be comfortable, like restless leg sydrome. The pain in my lower back is like the epicenter with the pain just radiating out to my extremities, even my knuckles hurt sometimes. i have pain and tenderness in some of the 18 points that they use for diagnosing fibro. plus chronic fatgiue, sleep disturbances, depression, etc etc etc… i am seeing a Rhumtologist this coming week and i am concerned if i do indeed have fibro, if this could have been brought on by the back problems. i have had these symptoms for 3 years.

I just had a baby four months ago and I barely started to have these pains in my legs, thighs, ankles and arms. Recently I had this extreme pain in my arm and it hurts so bad I think it might be arthritis or something. I looked up on it and I’ve read about Fibromyalgia, could it be? I dont really eat that well and I’m strictly breastfeeding too could this also cause a problem? I’ve heard that it’s pretty common for some people to get it after pregnancy and some of the symptoms of Fibromyalgia are aching all over, poor sleep, stiffness on waking, and being tired all day, headaches, dizziness, numbness and tingling, crampy abdominal or pelvic pain” and these are some symptoms that I have been experiencing.

Does anyone know of good organizations that are working towards research and coping? What about research that is being done? What are your FM stories? No whiners please…I was diagnosed with FM 3 years ago, and I can’t seem to find any activism going on towards finding relief/cures for this illness…every support group ends up being a bunch of people who can’t stop complaining. I suffer from this debilitating illness just as much as the next person, but don’t want to complain…I want to hear about success stories, treatments, people doing something to advance public education and get more research performed….this illness has progressed quietly long enough and it is time to get it out there in the public eye, like AIDS, MS, cancer…even asthma and arthritis have more public education and understanding. Anyone feel the same?

And whats the best way to know which one you have, have a apt at Dr. in a couple weeks would just like to know if I should ask if I could possibly have fibromyalgia
I forgot to mention this question was for my wife who had been told she has arthritis but she has pain all over her body, so this is why I asked. Thanks for any help

I have been having problems with my health for a year now. It’s been getting worse as time goes on. It all started with my lower back and non stop cramps. Now it’s from my head to my toes. I finally found a wonderful doctor who is helping me out. Giving me the referrals that I need. I just went to the rhemotologist. He told me that I tested positive for rheumatoid arthritis. Did x-rays. At the end of it never talked to me about any other tests and when I asked about the fibromyalgia that I had been told I do have and lupus was a possibility he just said that since I was positive for RA that’s what he was diagnosing me with because fibromyalgia, Lupus, and RA are all in the same family. I really feel like I have Lupus and Fibro. I never have any swelling in my joints. My symptoms are I hurt from head to toe to the point I can’t do anything. Crying is about it. I stay really tired. Bone tired. nausea. Low grade fevers, my tongue hurts, dry eyes. It seems to go on and on. What would your opinion be as to how should I handle this? Could the RA be wrong. No questions were asked and x-rays were not talked about to me at all. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2002. I did well on Requip for a while then Sinetment was added. I have trouble with depression so have been on different anti depressives over the years (even before the diagnoses of Parkinson’s). I have had different things come up that had to be treated but in the last year, pain has developed pretty much all over my body. They say I do have arthritis (not rheumatoid) and a rheumotologist has suggested that I have fibromyalgia. I also have trouble sleeping and stay fatigued all the time. I never have any energy. I am trying to figure out if I just have Parkinson’s and that’s what’s causing my pain as a person can have pain with that or if I just have fibromyalgia or both. I don’t usually do things like normal people or have normal symptoms like other people. I see a neurologist, a pain specialist, a psychiatrist, an internist (my primary physician) and of course a Gyn for the female stuff. It seems no one seems to really know what to do with me. I need any help I can get.
Any help will be appreciated. I no longer take Requip. I do take Sinetment, vicodin, Zanaflex, trazadone, Lexapro, lasix (sometimes) and klonopin.
I have had fatigue for a long time even before zanaflex so even though that may be a contributing factor I don’t think it’s the sole reason to my fatigue. Again I don’t know if it’s multiple issues or just one. If the doctors would put their heads together and discuss my case instead of each one giving me this drug and that one then maybe something could be accomplished but doctors don’t do that. All this technology and they can’t even pick up a phone and call each other to see what’s best or run the right test if there should be one to find out the cause of all my pain. I will be 60 yrs old on Sat and don’t feel like doing squat. I appreciate the suggestions I have gotten thus far.
