I am 45 w/ leg pain for about 3 years now, but getting worse. I could barley walk to my car after work. The pain is from the underware line down to my feet. They ache, pain all around inside & outside to my hips and lower back, muscle spasms, they get hard when I sit at work. Sometimes I feel like they are going to give out when I get up to walk. I have to take a hammer and pound on them to get some relief, kinda gives me a sence of massage. My dr. wants to do an MRI. I don’t have health insurance to get all these tests done. They would have to run millions of tests for: ms, fibro, arthritis, muscle damage? where do I start? One day I was taking a nap & I was burning inside from the hips down to my feet like I was on fire. It was horrible. My mom sees me shake my legs when I nap, like restless leg syndrome. When I get like this I don’t want to do anything but lay around, or even go to work, then I sleep too much, but it gives me some relief. Taking 10mg lexapro, 1/2 klonipin in am & pm (when needed) and tenormin for heart flutters. Thanks everyone for your help.

Can someone help me..
I have suffered from depression/anxiety. But, now am wondering if I was diagnosed incorrectly. I am going to see my doctor next week, but I’ve heard that its common for doctors to misdiagnose Fibro.
i wanted to give someone that has fibro a chance to read my symptoms & see if this sounds like them?
First off, when I wake up (every morning) I’m very stiff.. my shoulders mainly and neck (the pain also runs down my arms).. here’s the thing.. I WANT someone to rub my shoulders.. which I wasn’t sure if this was typical of Fibro. I’ll beg my husband to rub them before he goes to work because they hurt so badly. My mom has arthritis.. so IDK if this is more of an arthritis symptom or could it be fibro? The pain radiates down my arms.. but its more of an ache if this makes sense in my back, shoulder area..
I am SO tired all the time, but again this could just be depression.. I’m 30 and feel lke I’m 60. I want to sleep alot..I just dont have any energy.
I was mainly wondering if you have fibro, does a massage help or do you not want to be massaged? When my husband rubs my shoulders, it only helps briefly, then the pain comes back. Also, if the weather is bad (rain, snow, cold any dampness) the pain is really bad.. I can’t even wash my hair at night and go to bed, because of the dampness in my hair making my shoulder/back pain unbearable.
IDK if this is more of an arthritis symptom or fibro?
I’m going to talk w/ my doctor but if some of you say this is like you and you have fibro and he doesn’t give me a diagnosis of fibro, I may get a 2nd opinion. so any help would greatly be appreciated! Thanks

m not really sure where to start.when i was 15 i started having problems in both of my wrists,so i went to the doctor and he said i have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.at that time i thought it was just tendonitis and he was a quack.so i went around with a splint on each of my wrists for 2 months.and still i get the same pain now that i did then.i always crack them because its seems to make the pain go away but it comes right back.my knees bother me horribly at times so i pop them to try to take the pain away but that doesnt really help,so then i just sit there for a while with the pain and i keep extending it to crack it which just irratates it more.especially my left one.my back always gets stiff to the point where i cant even sit down.my right shoulder has been messed up for a while and not one doctor i have been to can figure out what is wrong.and now my left one is doing the same thing.
im only 19 and this has messed up my goals so far in life.so what should i do and whats your opinion?

i’m 15. and have had muscle pain in my legs and knee’s a lot. once every month or so my whole body will ache so much that i can’t do anything that i’d normally do. i went to the doctors for it, they thought it was possibly juvenile arthritis- it’s not. they still don’t know what’s wrong, but i’m kind of wanting them to figure it out soon. it’s nothing to do with my “time of the month” considering it doesn’t happen around that time. it feels like i just went through “hell week” for soccer, although i may of not even been doing anything prior to the pain. it goes away within a few days and then i’m basically fine for a while until it does it again.
i constantly have some pain in my knees and legs, but the rest of the pain comes and goes.
i barely even know what fibromyalgia is.. i was just thinking that possibly it could be that.
what do you think i should do? or maybe what it could be?
thanks guys, i really don’t know.
i think they checked me for anemia, but haven’t said anything about it. so i’m guessing it’s not that.
..eh i don’t even know anymore. it’s not shin splints or growing though, haha. but thank you all for your input.

I am 22 years old. I have been having severe leg pain since I was 9 years old. As I got older it gradually shifted to my knees which is where I know have the bulk of my pain. I noticed it gets worse when I do anything super strenuous or am on my feet too long. Once when we moved out furniture into our apartment it took hours of going up and down stairs and once we were done it felt like someone set my knees and legs on fire. I screamed it hurt so bad.

My mom has RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) and said it sounds just like hers. I injured my knee just walking in the mall today and an xray showed suprapatellar joint effusion (inflammation causing loose fluid) and deformed joints. I’m also noticing other symptoms. Lately I have like no strength. My hands are always weak (they don’t hurt though). I can’t seem to open pop bottles or jars. And when I get up in the morning it hurts really bad to walk on my feet (hurts in the balls of my feet) for at least 20 minutes. I sometimes wake up very stiff.

I KNOW I have RA. The doctors at the ER (multiple ones) say it sounds like RA. But every time I tell my primary doctor she brushes me off and says it’s fibromyalgia. It is NOT fibromyalgia, nobody else agrees with that. Now that I just went to the ER tonight and they printed out an xray report for me I am hoping I can hand that to her and get her to do something about it. If not, should I get a second opinion? I am afraid she is never going to officially diagnose me and I won’t be able to get the treatment I know I need. She never ran a blood test or anything to check. Help!

Also, I know that former athletes have arthritis and other conditions caused by trauma. Are there any former pro athletes who have fibromyalgia?
The question is almost rhetorical. But, in my limited experience, all the people I know that have been diagnosed use it as an excuse to do nothing. When I suggested exercise the answer is “well I have to be real careful, it can cause it to act up”. Ok, so if I go to the gym after not going for a while and try to break some lifting records, I will suffer for it. Am I oversimplifying?
