first let me say*I AM TAKING HER TO THE VET*.
Earlier this morning round 9 am my dog got up but quickly sat back down and whined too I didn’t know why then.
So then I had her get in the hallway and she sat back down quickly too but still couldn’t see where she was hurting. Then I had her go back in my room and she layed down. She has ben there since and won’t get up. She tries to get up but just can’t, when trying she just wiggles.
She is eating and drinking but I don’t know what is wrong yet. I am taking her to the vet either tonight or in the morning to find out what is wrong but has anyone else expereienced this with their dog or dogs?
at my vet its 50 for the exam and if they need to X-ray that is 130. My other dog sometimes gets elbow dysplasia and will limp but it only lasts for a few days and thern is fine. But she has never been hurt like this so it makes me worry.
She is 7 and I don’t want to lose her yet. I’m thinking when we take her to the vet getting a towel or something and putting it under her and hope that helps her walk. But if she wiggle trying to get up it makes me worry more.
She is very active, she loves running in circles around the tree in the backyard and playing chase with my other dog Duke.
I have a 10 year old German Shepard mix/Female/52 pounds/Medium size dog.
I took her to the vet about 2 days ago & the vet says she has arthritis
She gave me Tramadol-20 Tabs or 20 days. And also a sample pack(4) of Rimdayl.
I’ve heard that alot of the prescription medications for arthritis can cause liver damage.
A couple of brands I’ve heard are good choices are : GMC and I believe the other has a ingredient called glucosamine.
I’m doing my own research, like reading up on reviews for the best over counter medications that won’t cause severe damage or even hopefully any damage.
So if any knows or has tried medications that are promising please let me know and thanks alot.

I’m sorry
I’m just trying to choose what’s best for my dog.
I’m new to medications for pets
I have read several time in various sources about people using Certo for arthritis. Do you see any problems using this for dogs? I have included a link for info about use in people.

my 14 year old australian shepard mix has had arthritis in his hips for a couple years now and i am looking for a good “OTC” supplement for him as i cannot afford to get something from the vet. when he first got it i gave him Petmax Hip Health and it worked like a charm for several months. when i ran out i was unable to it again so i switched to DGP (Dog Gone Pain) but not only was it hard to get him to take the pills but it did not really seem to work. anyone know of something that works really well that i can buy in a store or online that is not super expensive? i was thinking of trying Flexpet but for nearly $50 (which includes the shipping) for a 1 month supply i am reluctant to spend that kind of money on something that might not work. anyone here have any experience with arthritis supplements for dogs? which one(s) worked for your dog?

Im not writing an english essay, im quickly asking a question…so…i don’t need perfect grammar and correct spelling and punctuation. Just wastes time.
My husband is thinking about re-enlisting in the Army. We have a 13 year old large dog with minor arthritis and an otherwise clean bill of health. If we are assigned overseas or to Alaska or Hawaii, how will she take to the plane ride? I know she has to be drugged, how will that affect her? She is very clingy, and has bad eyesight and hearing. Will she be hurt physically by the flight? How have your older pets done on long airplane flights?
My dog has arthritis in her hind legs and I’m trying Freedom to move Recovery SA to see if helps at all. One thing that worries me though is that it contains Vitamin C in the form of Magnesium Ascorbate. I know Asorbic Acid type Vitamin C can cause problems for dogs kidneys and livers. Is Magnesium Ascorbate somehow different or does it cause the same problems?
OK I have a 12 year old Schnauzer. I took him in for a check up on Friday. His back legs were bothering him. Had a prostate test, Pancreas test, liver and kidney test and red and white blood cell test. Everything is perfect. He has arthritis and he is 10 to 15 lbs. overweight. He has always gone in for check up and shots. This is the first mention of his “weight problem”. He weighs 30.6lbs. He has to lose at least 9lbs. the vet said. He said his weight is making the arthritis worse. Which makes sense. Here is my question. I was told that dogs can have fresh vegetables for a snack, except lettuce and he can have fruits except peaches and grapes. Is this info correct?? Is there any other nutritious snacks you know of?
