Im 38, female. In the last 2 years I have gained unexplained weight, have mood swings, irregular periods that were normal, like clock work before. I feel fatiged and tired most the time. I have tendonitis, feel sleepy and forgetfull, even if i get a good nights sleep. And also have loose stools most the time. my gynacoligist said he thought I was going through premenapause, I have a thyroid test done about 5 years ago but the doctor said it was normal, but a friend said if they dont do the right one, sometimes it wont show up. I also have alot of aches and pains like arthritis. im thinking of going back to the doctor for a physical and asking for a thyroid test. I have hardly any energy and even have tried taking vitamins for this. I also cant seem to loose weight on diets. I feel like i get hot flashes right before my period, and have many mood swings. I also feel weak most the time. I have never had anything wrong with me besides a cold or sinus headache.

I have had lyme disease since I was a toddler and am getting treated by the best lyme doctor in the world. I have had many strange problems over the years. Oh and don’t tell me I’m treating it wrong and it goes away in a few weeks. EVERY lyme patient I’ve EVER spoken to has done doxycycline and felt amazing then weeks later it came back twice as badly. Now that that’s cleared up let me get to the point. For about a year now my left knee feels like it has a hard lymph node underneath the knee cap when I straighten it while walking. It doesn’t really hurt except after I walk for a long time without a break. It has NEVER happened to my right knee. I’ve always had growing pain-like pains after a lot of leg use a couple hours later and everyone just diagnosed it as “tendinitis” or “arthritis”. I believe that is irrelevant and I got rid of that with treatment but I felt it was worth mentioning. The knee pressure isn’t constant and has no pattern; it is completely random, and only happens with a very specific walking pattern. About 3-5 years ago I jumped into my couch and one of the springs came loose and cut a hole into the side of my knee in the left hollow spot diagonal to the knee cap in front. It went so far that I saw “white” flesh and it didn’t really bleed. The pressure started happening fairly recently this year though. I’ve always had problems with my legs but this is a very weird one. Thank you all for any valuable insight into what the problem is. Sincerely, Jeremy.

Has anybody had to take any of these medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis ,Crohns or Psoriatic Arthritis. I was told I will have to be treated by DMARDS but can not afford the newer drugs/biological meds. I am trying to see what people can recommend in the line of the synthetics like methotrexate , sulfasalazine or the like. I am worried about price and nasty side effects. I am concerned about the price becuase to me 100.00 is a lot for medication but to my doctor that is cheap so I want to know if any of the drugs are cheap in generic form but with minimal side effects and helpful.

i live in south florida. where you can find a tick on any animal that isnt protected by a pest collar or frontline, advantix etc. a little over 2 years ago despite countless hundreds spent on lawn repellant and animal products i had quite a tick infestation after they plowed down the field next to my home. my grandmother got bit by a few ticks and started developing symptoms: the bulls eye rash (at the sight of the tick bite), flue like symptoms. then she started with the joint pain, a 75% blocked artery fatigue and some nervous system problems… i understand she’s older, and i understand alot of these symptoms spell out RA, but we really think its Lyme disease poisoning, and the doctos she’s gone to refuse to believe it and don’t want to test… anyone else had this problem??

I have had progressing stiffness and pain in my hands, wrists, and elbows. I didn’t see a doctor, because I just figured it was mild carpal tunnel. Well the pain and stiffness has got worse and worse. I also have another strange symptom that has developed over the last few months that I previously ignored.

I have chronic ear pain and temporal headaches. I went to a doctor, and they confirmed I did NOT have an ear infection, and told me it was stress. LOL

Is it possible that arthritis is causing the joint pain and causing TMJ, which in turn is causing my ear pain and headaches??

Please help, and how do I ease this pain? Do I need pain medications? I ahve been taking Ibuprofen and it is no help at all.

Any suggestions would be great.

rheumatoid arthritis is a disease caused in part by this organelle. when it becomes leaky, it releases digestive enzymes that normally digest waste products and other materials. if released into the cell, these enzymes degrade cartlidge in joints.

I am 16 and i have hashimoto’s thyritis (auto immune thyroid disease). my mother has the same condition but I do not know the cause of her’s, she also has rheumatoid arthritis, does this increase my chances of having rheumatoid arthritis?

I’ve just been diagnosed with degenerative joint disease. I’m only 46 and I’ve been dealing with this pain for at least 15 years. Is it common for someone as young as me to have severe degenerative joint disease?

My cat has been taken to a vet, but the vet didn’t really know, and prescribed antibiotics just in case. All the vet knew for certain was that it was a neurological disorder, it was not arthritis and was not age related. The symptoms are as follows: wobbly back legs, lethargy, mouth open and gaping indicating pain and confusion. What is it? Please I really need to know!
