My 7 year old cat has been limping for at least 3 months, possibly more and it is getting progressively more pronounced. It is especially noticeable after getting up from naps. She is still very active and playful but she is not doing some of her fancier flying leaps with twist moves. 2 months ago took her to an orthopedic specialist who did x-rays and a joint fluid analysis. The x-ray showed damage or blurred margins on her left elbow. The fluid analysis showed no infection so he believes it was trauma and would heal it self in time. We’re going back in for a follow up today and I’m wondering about other possible causes such as arthritis and what questions I should ask about causes, tests and treatments.

I have had chronic pain for 8-9 years (I’m 21 yrs. old). It started in my legs and then spread throughout my body until it was head to toe muscle pain, and joint pain. The joint pain was diagnosed as Gout (an acute form of arthritis in which uric acid builds up in the body and forms as chrystals on the joints). The joint pain has reduced alot after treatment. But I have yet to find out what the muscle pain is and get it treated. I thought a while back it was fibromyalgia, I need to ask my docter about that come to think of it. When I was in junior high I went to a physical therapist and they said I had very and unusally tight leg muscles…but that’s all they could determine at that time.
So does anyone know the list of the causes of chronic muscular pain? It is very debilitating and it hurts to do anything. The pain increases when I stand (can’t for very long), walk, sit, even lie down.
Thanks,
Amy

What condition leads to fingers that are wider after the last knuckle, arthritis like symptoms in the hand, and a heart defect?
How serious a condition is this?
It’s a reIative. I knew about the clubbing, but someone just mentioned the heart defect. I just googled cyanotic heart defect. He definately does not appear blue. He is young and active, but has complained of joint pain.
He’s had the club fingers as far back as I can remember.

Someone said he had a slightly concave chest. I’ve never noticed that, so it must be slight.

Is whatever it is genetic? Is it contagious?

This guy is an 18m/o Border Collie, he came to me 3 weeks ago as a shelter pull. He was a stray with no known history, he had pneumonia, was 15lbs under weight and not eating, he was unable to sit and showed L Rear hip/leg swelling and pain to the touch for the first 3 days, 3 weeks later he is able to sit, run and jump on furniture comfortably. He was officially diagnosed with early stage Osteoarthritis and Osteosclerosis today. So far, I have been treating it with a good protein rich non-grain/corn diet, joint supplements (starting today), regular informal massages and a healthy weight maintenance program. My ideas so far for causes are; early prolonged nourishment, genetic/congenital, hindered circulation or auto-immune. Any details would be greatly appreciated.

Mother had chemotherapy for her multiple myloma . That problem got better her blood count came back up and the protein deposited cells start dying and new cell started to generate. Now with all this the doctor thinks that her bone marrow is also getting better which is contributing to increase of blood but unfortunately caused her arthritis to become severe and she is in lots of pain. None of the meds like tylenol, vicodine and such work except when she was in the hopspital the morphine was working. So what can we do for her ?

Thanks in advance

I’m a 24 year old female in good health (minus having GERD) and I suffer from chronic neck pain. I have a good diet, exercise 5 times a week and do yoga, and do not have bad posture. I have never had an injury or accident. I have been seeing a chiropractor for the past 7 months and only get relief for the first few days after being adjusted. Then the pain comes back. I’ve never been diagnosed with osteoporosis, arthritis, fibromyalgia etc. What could be causing this chronic neck pain, and should I be worried about those conditions/diseases? Thank you!!

I don’t agree with the diagnosis. The pain comes out of nowhere and will last five to twenty minutes. It doesn’t matter if my leg is bent or straight. Standing or sitting. It feels better when I am standing up. I would like to know if anyone has arthritis and does this sound right.

Is this commonly accepted answer to an onset of pain and swelling really an old “wives tale”?
Does barometric pressure play a scientifically proven role? And if so, how?
