I have a 10 year old German Shepard mix/Female/52 pounds/Medium size dog.

I took her to the vet about 2 days ago & the vet says she has arthritis :(
She gave me Tramadol-20 Tabs or 20 days. And also a sample pack(4) of Rimdayl.

I’ve heard that alot of the prescription medications for arthritis can cause liver damage.

A couple of brands I’ve heard are good choices are : GMC and I believe the other has a ingredient called glucosamine.

I’m doing my own research, like reading up on reviews for the best over counter medications that won’t cause severe damage or even hopefully any damage.

So if any knows or has tried medications that are promising please let me know and thanks alot.

I’m sorry :(
I’m just trying to choose what’s best for my dog.
I’m new to medications for pets :(

my 14 year old australian shepard mix has had arthritis in his hips for a couple years now and i am looking for a good “OTC” supplement for him as i cannot afford to get something from the vet. when he first got it i gave him Petmax Hip Health and it worked like a charm for several months. when i ran out i was unable to it again so i switched to DGP (Dog Gone Pain) but not only was it hard to get him to take the pills but it did not really seem to work. anyone know of something that works really well that i can buy in a store or online that is not super expensive? i was thinking of trying Flexpet but for nearly $50 (which includes the shipping) for a 1 month supply i am reluctant to spend that kind of money on something that might not work. anyone here have any experience with arthritis supplements for dogs? which one(s) worked for your dog?

this problem of weak bones in her old age?

swimming, horse riding
Richard, the last operation was a triple arthrodesis at 13! The foot is pinned, and it was a result of a club foot! Hope that helps- and thanks for your help

knee surgeries and bad pain, narcotics only take the edge off, sometimes. I have sciatica also and the Dr. cant figure it out yet. I think it’s because of my knee, but they can’t find anything except arthritis in lower back and osteo of knee

People say bike riding down the street puts strain on the knees and that a stationary bike is better and so is swimming?

I’m 46 years old, I’m a very sport man, suddenly I had a pain in my right knee 4 months ago. After I made X-ray, doctors said that it is knee osteoarthiritis.
I’d like to come back to my sport as quick as possible.

Hey everyone, I’ll start with a little backstory. I’ve been “fat” for about the last 13 years, before that I was in great shape due to playing soccer year around. Unfortunately I found at an early age I have arthritis and it really started hurting to run so sports were out.

Since then I have gained about 10-15 lbs a year. I have tried dieting somewhat in the past but it always ended up with me doing a full day of binging within 3 days and giving up.

My fiance’ and I decided to start dieting on memorial day (5/26) and it’s been so hard for me. I’ve gone from eating in excess of 3000 calories a day to about 1500-2000. I’ 6′2″ and I wieghed a tad over 315 when we started. I’m now around 302 but I keep cheating daily now, and cant get under the 300lb mark. We just got back from cheating at IHOP and I know I doubled my calories for the day and easily had 40-50 grams of fat.

The worst part about this is Im hungry all the time, and I yell at everyone. I need some advice.
