A drunk man who smelled like beer sat down on a subway
next to a priest. The man’s tie was stained, his face was
plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of
gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket.

He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few
minutes the man turned to The priest and asked, “Say
Father, what causes arthritis?”

The priest replies, “My Son, it’s caused by loose living,
Being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, contempt for
your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes and lack
of a bath.”

The drunk muttered in response, “Well, I’ll be damned,”

Then returned to his paper.

The priest, thinking about what He had said, nudged the
man and apologized. “I’m very sorry. I didn’t mean to come on
so strong.

How long have you had arthritis?”

The drunk answered, “I don’t have it, Father. I was just
reading here that the Pope does.”

Disclaimer : It is only a joke to be read, enjoy and make us laugh.

My cat Tigger has had pretty bad arthritis for years, but I was hesitant about trying anything for fear of side effects. However it’s now getting to the point where she really has to have something. I refuse to use drugs or NSAIDS, but have heard great hings about supplements like Cosequin and Synflex. Has anyone used one of the natural remedies? I’m leaning towards trying Synflex and adding MSM. I’m also starting hydrotherapy with her as well as therapeutic massage and possibly acupuncture. ANy othger suggestions would be helpful too. She already has a nice super thick high density orthopedic bed and gets a great diet with Wysong Uretic kibble (every time I’ve tried to discontinue it she gets UTIs), By Nature Organics canned food, as well as Paw Naturaw raw diets and homecooked organic meats and wild caught fish. She also gets wild salmon oil, CoQ10, Taurine, LCarnitine, B-complex, and digestive enzymes to help her touchy tummy. She’ll be getting Resveratrol, RNA, and red clay shortly as well

Pretty simple.

I’ve been suffering with inflammation in my knees for almost a year now. At one point, I couldn’t walk. Right now I have function in my knees again thanks to a cortisone injection (both knees), lots of vitamins, and keeping active. I have also been on a gluten free diet for a few months now with minimal improvement. I have seen a knee specialist, a Rheumatoid Arthritis doctor, and my own doctor (who knows her stuff).

I have taken almost every blood test out there and there were no red flags. Mostly normal. TSH was at 4.9 but went down to a 2.8 (in a month, which is a little odd). Calcium was high but went down to the high/normal range. Testosterone was on the low end. DHEA and Vitamin D was low. I’m taking supplements now. Negative for any infections or anything like Lyme’s disease. I have done A LOT of blood work and nothing conclusive was found.

I am a 22 year old male. I have never had a problem like this before until last October. It hit hard and it hit fast. Before this happened, I was very active. I did P90X, Brazilian JiuJitsu, Hapkido, San Shou, swimming, running, cycling, etc. I was very active and limber (I did stretch). That being said, I want to be able to live like I used to again.

If you have any ideas that go beyond the probable (something that the doctors may have missed), I’d be glad to hear them. Please, don’t tell me to take a Lyme’s disease test, etc, etc. Already done that more than once. Wanting something that my doctors may have missed.

That being said, are there any types of doctors you can recommend for a severe acute onset of inflammatory arthritis in the knees?

Specialists?
Name and location?

Thank you.

Gonna be a long one, so be prepared.

She’s in her mid-20′s. She not doing well. I called my vet a week ago because of abscesses under her chin that seemed to happen overnight. She came out, said it was strangles and that i should consider putting her down. I told her that wasn’t going to happen, and she left. Since I got her a year ago, she’s always had bad feet. She was a rescue, came to me with horrible pancaked feet (took a few farrier visits to cut them to where they should be) and her feet are still to this day awful and pancake so easily. They are also prone to abscesses. She was at least 200lbs underweight. Bad arthritis. Today, she is still about the same. Maybe a little better, and a lot more friendlier and more trusting. Today i noticed abscesses in each of her legs, that seemed to have popped open overnight. She also had a large abscess blow out of the top of her right hoof not too long ago, and the hoof keeps cracking (treating them currently). When I got her, i made all food changes slow and gradual. We kept her on the feed she was on, a grain feed, added beet pulp to it. She got a scoop of feed and 4lbs of beet pulp a day, split into 3 meals. Free choice high quality hay/pasture also. The vet told me to keep her on that, since she had good digestion and perfect teeth for her age. She also got MSM for her joints. During the winter, i added rice bran to her diet to help her with weight and to keep her warm, and starting this spring changed her diet to Purina senior feed since not much weight has been put on. Right now she is eating about 5lbs Nutrena Life Design Senior Feed, 2 cups rice bran, 8 cups soaked beet pulp, 10,000mg MSM, and a cup of Calf Manna. She’s been eating this for about a month as well as free high quality hay and pasture like always. The only difference in her is the “worried” look on her face is gone, and she seems a little happier. But she’s slowed down a lot. (Two days ago, and today she got an electrolyte supplement, Stress-Dex gel to help her out.) I’m thinking it’s because of the newly formed abscesses on her legs though. But i’ve been cleaning her up, helping the abscesses drain, spraying the wounds with wound spray then covering with Swat so fly’s don’t get in there. I want to add something else to her diet, it’s from SmartPak’s. It’s called Smartflex-Senior. I was wondering if it’s worth trying? I don’t wanna lose my best friend. I’m not ready, and neither is she. Also, anything else i could be doing? Thanks…
Thanks everyone… And thanks Lexii. xx
