I go tomorrow to speak with my doctor & to essentially BEG for medication.
Here’s the summary:
I am in terrible joint pain (numerous joints NOT muscle)
I am having HORRIBLE head aches each day.
I have “trigger finger” both middle fingers
All cause me very bad DAILY pain (like a 7-9 on a 1-10 scale)
They are looking into the cause & I am waiting to see a specialist (believing its a form of Arthritis or RA, as well as “trigger finger” & “tension/stress head aches”)
In the meanwhile, I am looking for some relief.
Ive tried Vicodin (with very little relief..had to be over 10mg)
Ive tried dilaudid (works when over 4mg)
I take Motrin 800 (every 8 hours religiously)
I take SOMA 250 mg (no help)
I take Tramadol 50mg (no help)
No tylenol works
Its been over 3 months in this pain. I am careful trying to take ONLY one pill per day at the worst pain level.
Can anyone suggest what I can ask the doc for? I need relief!
Let me stress, I want help so I can just function each day. I have 4 kids, Im 29 and Ive been bed bound due to pain. Im irritable and unable to function most days.
Im simply looking for advice (temp) while I work with the docs to find a specialist & figure out whats wrong.. (so far all blood work is NORMAL!)
Ive been on VERY high doses of prednisone (both injection and oral) presently oral is 40mg per day!
Yes YES yes – AM & PM are the worst pain wise…and especially when COLD!
Im tired all the time..but my test results appear that I dont have RA (stumping me!)
Heating pads dont help (tried that!)
As for why i only try to take one med – I sometimes take it twice a day but Ive been VERY careful not to become addicted/dependant…thats why I try to be conservative…plus I have 4 young kids to care for and chase around.
What I have noticed is …I must take ALOT to get relief (almost double the recomended dose)…its like Ive built a tolerance already!
I dont drink or do rec drugs at all….
Im also not sleeping..and have obviously been depressed (not to mention stressed out with frustration!)
Yes Im on birth control (nursing mom so I am on Camila)..(no estrogen)

I feel so bad for her since she used to be SO active and now she is limping and it hurts her to go up and down stairs, let alone to run around like she used to! I think it is making her depressed, and it makes us sad to see her so sad:(
What is an inexpensive way to help ease the pain she is feeling without having to go to the vet about it again? Thank you for any suggestions!!

I am also always tired and have times with big malaise along with fevers and lack of appetite. I also take medication for it everyday. So you can see why I would want my friend to know (it would probably explain a lot that has happened and probably will happen). Problem is, I don’t know how. I think she will freak out, tell someone or start treating me different. But she’s my best friend and I want her to know. Help!?!

Recently, she informed me that she will be volunteering at a marathon for arthritis research, and i asked her for some information on the run in order for myself to participate. upon learning that the cost of running the marathon is out of my price range, i searched for other upcoming marathons that have to do with arthritis research, and found one in October. i informed her of this and her response seemed sort of passive. So i can only imagine that she thinks that this is a form of pity or me acting as if i know what she goes through. I don’t think i have the power to convince her that she means the world to me and that i simply would like to help the cause and educate myself on the cross she has to bear, so as not to seem ignorant with any statements i make.

So my real question is, how can i help the cause, and my friend, without directly telling her so as to not have her go on the defensive and resent me. I care for her a lot and recently its been eating me up inside that i can’t help her much.

I appreciate any ideas.
