I am 17 years old and my Mother claims “Your too young to feel back pain!” Is it true ONLY old people can get arthritis? Because when i walk, my knee’s crack, my right foot cracks (I chipped a bone on it 2 years ago by falling down some steps outside) and when i sit up from my chair or i get out of my bed my back cracks loudly. Earlier i fell asleep on the couch and my brother was playing video games in the living room and he heard a loud ‘crack’ from my back while i was sleeping and he thought it was odd. The only thing that doesn’t crack on my body is my neck. Sometimes it hurts too much. Sometimes i think about killing myself because no one will help me and the pain can be unbearable on rainy days (Literally!) . I’d ask for pain medication such as vicodin (I have been given it before for my foot and it did WONDERS! I felt slight discomfort and it was tolerable after i took it) but i hear that’s what they call a “RED FLAG” (Suspicious). Could i get my back X-Rayed to prove i am in pain? Can teenagers even get arthitis?
(Also my fingers like..i don’t know how to explain it. Sometimes my fingers will go completly STIFF and i cannot move them.)
Someone please help…what should i do? And don’t tell me to do fricking Yoga, I’ve tried it all!
Also, My Mom and me were in a bad car accident when i was a baby. Could that of affected me and could that be the cause of my back pain? What should i do? No one will help me, my mother doesn’t do shit for me……She won’t even take me to the hospital if I’m sick. She’ll just say I’m being melodramatic when I’m not! It hurts! I have a LOW threshold for pain!!
God damn it, i CANT do Yoga (I cannot physically!!) and i don’t want any sites linking to ‘tremedol’ i don’t want pills illegally and i don’t want them to get high, i am in PAIN and i want a real answer. Just please someone, answer my question..I can’t take this pain anymore…

I’m an active, young, former collegiate athlete that was rear-ended four months ago. I didn’t have any problems until roughly 3 hours after the accident. The driver of the other vehicle was cited for not providing proper distance. Since the accident, I’ve been in and out of visits with my primary care physician, Physical Therapy and Orho Neuro Specialist. The specialist said that my x-rays indicate previous early arthritis. He also pointed out a bulging disc. I’ve been told that both are considered preexisting and cannot be taken into consideration if I were to proceed legally. Meanwhile, I have never had any need for any type of pain treatment for either of these “preexisting” problems. I’ve been in and out of PT and had several shots to re leave the pain and I’m still dealing with it. Can I pursue this legally? Does it make sense?
Can you tell me what it is and how to avoid it any change in way of living or doing some exersises etc..
I check my total cholestrol it is 245 is this any problem..
Some days my lower back, hips, and right leg hurt so badly I think I can barely walk. This may go on for several days, or for three or four days consecutively.
Then other days I am just as pain free and flexible as ever. I had wondered about a slipped disk or spinal stenosis, but wouldn’t the pain from these conditions be constant?
Is arthritis a pain that comes and goes? Does anyone else have experience with back pain that is intermittent, and if so – what is your diagnosis and how do you relieve the pain?
Thank you.
I just got approved in Florida to have Laser back surgery. I will probably go in January of 2008
The laser surgery is to cure my arthritis in my lower back. I am 37 years old and in a lot of pain. I dont want open surgery, to dangerous.
Do i do this or not.
How long does it last.
Will i feel better the rest of my life or is it temporary.
Or am i waisting my time it wont do anything.
Could this damage me even worse.
Most pain relief creams, etc. target the muscles, rather than the nerves that are affected by osteoarthritis. I have heard that glucosamine may be helpful in treating arthritis. I am not looking for a cure, just pain relief. I am currently taking high doses of Ibuprofen, which can cause liver damage. I would rather take something that targets the source of the problem. Has anyone taken glucosamine and had positive results for back pain relief?
My mom has a major back problem and arthritis and also bone spur. She has been suffering since many yrs now and her new doctor has adviced her to lose some weight. Other than diet what exercises can she do? Anybody who might have had similar problems. is there a cure for it. She tried a lot in India , is there something she can do in the US or Europe?
