My dog is old and for some reason he is acting like he has arthritis, its something to watch him try to get around, someone told me its cause wennie dogs have back problems, just wondering if anyone else’s dog might do the same thing, I dont know what to do with him…
i have been feeling ill for quite awhile, i was dx with fibromyalgia about 2 years ago, the drs. knew i had some form of auto immune disorder but havent aggressivly searched for anything, recently had a bone scan done and shown that in shoulders, elbows wrists, knees, there was evidence of degeneritive arothopy, my pain mgt. dr. advised me to go to a rheumy. i got in with in 1 week, this should of been my first clue, the dr spent less then 10 mins with me , but did order blood work, on my ana 12 profile it came back positive, speckled, and the titerwas 1:40 my complement c4 was 15. my cardiolipin was18.6 anti-ds dna ab by farr was 2.8, anion gap 19.0 and rdw was 15.9and my crp was 11.4, my question is i have suspected that i have had lupus for awhile, i have all the classic symptoms, but my first visit with the rheumy, he automaticly without haveing any previous history said i dont think you have lupus or rheumotoid arthritis, and without seeing blood work, does anyone have any answer
Haven’t been able to do blood test confirming rheumatoid arthritis yet bc I’ve been sick. Current symptoms: extreme fatigue, laryngitis, and fever. Oddly, and thankfully, no joint pain except for two days last week when I felt better and had no fever.
I’m a 20 year old male that has been having annoying knee pain for a few years. I realise that nobody who answers this is going to be able to say for sure what the cause is, but at least give me ideas on what to tell the doctor when I do see him.
This has been going on for 5-6 years now, my family doctor basically writes it off as nothing, tells me I have jeuvenile oesteo-arthritis. But he lists the symptoms and they don’t fit me, hardly at all.
So the pain:
Never there in the morning.
Is at the back of the knee, on the inside, seems to come from the very prominant tendon you can see/feel in the back of most peoples legs.
Standing or walking for long periods agravates it.
Stairs up or down, make almost no difference.
Biking( I have been HEAVILY into mountain biking for years, my whole life basically) there is never any pain.
The back of my leg swells when the pain is there.
A simple tensor wrap or stretchy knee brace almost immediately relieves the pain, 100%.
My calf and back of the thigh both always have that feeling of the day after you work out. Where you need you stretch. And stretching the front of my leg (quads) relieves the pain temporarily.
The pain is a dull feeling, not around the kneecap at all, and only on the inside of the back on my knee. I can still walk just fine, putting my knee in any position but dead straight also relieves the pain. Running doesn’t aggravate it anymore than walking does.
I plan on going to the doctor with a list similar to the one I wrote out here, but basically I’m wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction with what this may be..
About a month ago my cat started limping. We watched it for a while to see if it would get better but instead it seemed to get worse. She was not using her left front leg at all. We took her to the vet and they did x-rays. There was no obvious sign of problem on the x-ray so the vet thinks that she may have arthritis. She’s only 6 years old and we’ve never noticed her limping for any length of time before. The vet also said that she has some mild swelling around her shoulder joint and that she’s lost a lot of muscle mass on that side due to not using that leg. I know that some medications they put cats and dogs on for arthritis (medecam?) can be very harmful and even caused my friends dog to die of renal failure. I don’t know what we should do to help her?
The vet is having a panel of veterinary experts look at the x-rays. He can’t see anything obvious on the x-rays but he did say that there might be some loss of bone mass on one side of the wrist and the shoulder but he doesn’t know what that could mean. The risks of metecam for small cats is very high and the chance that it is arthitis is very low.
They believe that I have had Lupus since 2002, It attacks my joints giving me the same symptoms as a sever arthritis. Some days I can barely walk or hold a hair brush it hurts so badly. I am currently collecting unemployment but finding a job that fits my ability is very rare. What should I do for further medical assistance? What should I do for a job? I am very scared that I might have a advanced stage of Lupus… Positive answers Please
Low back pain results from a back injury or certain types of arthritis. Back pain is one of the most common health problems in the United States. It can occur at any age in both men and women. Treatments include pain relievers or anti-inflammatory drugs, exercise, heat or cold, joint protection, pacing your activities and self-help skills

I have a herniated disc that is compressing my nerve in my L4/L5 region and my back doctor has said that it is a pretty bad herniation. I also have some narrowing of the spine and arthritis in my lower back. I am only 21 years old, female, and about 15 pounds overweight. I have had 2 facet joint block injections in my back with celestone and it has offered me no relief, and I experience an increase in pain afterwards. I recently saw a back surgeon and he said that I am not a candidate for back surgery, which is fine by me because I think that I am way too young to have any surgery. However, I experience excrutiating pain when I sit down that travels into my hips and down the front of my legs. Sometimes it gets so bad that I cannot sit for more than ten minutes at a time which is a problem because I am still in school. Is there any other treatment out there besides these injections that I should ask my doctor about, should I go to a different specialist?
What do you think this is?
I have a history of rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed with symptoms and a + RA factor.
Last weekend I noted severe stiffness in my upper back going to the very back of my neck with pain radiating down both arms to mid deltoid. The pain doesn’t go down the entire arm just mid deltoid. I am also noticing a slight weakenss on the left side but it isn’t enough to drop things ect.
I am adding a picture of the tattoo on my back ( this was done over a year ago… but it marks the spot where I am having pain stiffness and aburing sensation. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b85/no…
My doctor set me up with Soma and an anti inflammatory. I feel a bit better, but the weakness on the left arm is still present and ever so slight. My fine motor skills aren’t affected, my arm feels week when I raise my arm over my head for example. My MD felt I have some sort of injury.. but I have had not trauma that I am aware of to that area. What to you think this is?
It’s usually from half way down his back and down. He hasn’t stopped crying. What should I do? Is there any kind of medicine that I can give him? He is a miniature poodle, bytheway. Does anyone know what it is? The Doctor said a while ago that it’s arthritis and happens whenever the weather changes.
