LOOKING FOR A DRUG TO USE FOR PAIN OTHER THAN VICODIN, OXYCONTIN ETC….IM A RECOVERING ADDICT AND AM SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING TO ASK MY DOC ABOUT FOR PAIN RELIEF..I HAVE BEEN ON VICODIN (HYDROCODONE) FOR 3 YEARS AND CANNOT!!!! TAKE IT ANYMORE…SUBOXONE HELPED ME GET THRU CRAVINGS AND WITHDRAWAL AND I KNOW IT IS EITHER USED FOR PAIN MANAGMENT OR DETOX BUT HOW ABOUT BOTH??? MY DOCTOR IS A NEUROLOGIST WHO IS TREATING ME FOR FIBROMYALGIA AND ARTHRITIS AND I TOLD HIM MYSELF THAT I HAD BECOME ADDICTED SO WE ARE WORKING ON FINDING AN ALTERNATIVE. ANY SUGGESTIONS???? I ONLY!!! EVER ABUSED THE VICODIN..I HAVE NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER IN ANY OTHER DRUG FOR ABUSE “JUST” PAIN RELIEF…I CANNOT WORK LIKE THIS AND BARELY EXIST WITHOUT HELP FROM SOMETHING AND I DONT KNOW WHAT IM GOING TO DO NOW. I JUST KNOW I COULDNT CONTINUE WITH THE HYDROS. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER IN MY BRAIN BUT MY BODY FEELS LIKE CRAP, ITS AWFUL!!! PLEASE HELP….

Autoimmune Disorder: Anyone know anything about it?

I’ve had a blood test that showed that I have autoimmune disorder.
Is it possible to go through my life without any symptoms such as Lupus or rheumatoid arthritis or do I have something wrong in my body that I’m just not aware of?

Has anyone had trouble getting there dog to take Tramadol pill or liquid?

Our dachshund is l4 years old and she has arthritis in her back and hips so she is in a lot of pain. We can not get her to take either pills or liquid. We have tried hiding it in different foods but she always know it there and spits it out. Has anyone else had this problem. Dr. says she needs it but we just can’t get it down her.

Has anyone heard of using “Horse Serum” for rheumatoid arthritis ?

i am on prescribtion drugs that dont seem to be helping that much.(methotrexate,enbrel,daypro) I am taking a multi vit, b complex, folic acid and vit e.
i have tried cherrie powder it didnt seem to do anything at all.amputation?? i thought of that too!!!! but i want to move with out pain and inflamation.

Anyone have Fibromaylgia and able to explain to me the symptoms? I am suspicious of myself?

For the last 8 years (when I turned 22) I will have full body tenderness, fatigue, soreness, and ache whenever the weather is rainy. I tested positive for rheumatoid factor, but the rhematologist said it didn’t look like rheumatoid arthritis. I lost my insurance before I could find out what it was…

Things that make me suspicious is my fingers will throb at the joints at random moments. Sometimes when I wake up, it hurts to get out of bed and its difficult to walk as my feet feel restless. I have muscle stiffness in my neck, shoulders, and upper back when the weather changes but won’t have q full body onset every time (today not the case – it hurts to type or hold my arms up). And other small things…

Do any of you or your spouses have Fibro? What symptoms are there? Does the sufferer feel completely worthless like I do when they can’t move without pain? How does the nonsuffering spouse handle it, let alone believe it since it is all internal?

BTW, posted this in marriage and divorce because these are is the most populated AND because I am sure someone who has Fibro might result in divorce as a result of selfishness of the non-fibro spouse.

Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, and fever on exertion. Anyone else experienced this?

My MIL has osteoporosis, arthritis, and is on .5 mg. steroids everyday.
She has experienced weight loss and recurring fever for the last few months, and an unexplained fluctuation in Hb levels. Has anyone else experienced this? An affirmative answer will mean a lot of relief at our end. Her dumb doctor never informed her that she has arthritis, just wrote it in her medical file. We just found out – 4 years later!
I know steroids are not indicated for either of these conditions, that is why i m mad at the doctor, but my family thinks i play doctor too much. Thanks for this confirmation.

My name is Em and I’m 18.
I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 3, and I continued to suffer from joint pain, mostly in my legs for years. I was tested again at 16 and was told that I no longer have JRA. However my pains have only increased and spread to what feels like the joints in my fingers, hands, wrists, toes, ankles, and knees. I also experience sharp and dull pains in my muscles every where in my body. Some times the pains feel so deep it’s like there in my bones. Other times they cause my muscles to feel extremely sensitive to the touch. (My mother tapped me on the arm to get my attention and I literally cried. It felt like she had hit me as hard as she could.)
Because of this muscle sensitivity, and because I also suffer weak spouts in which I feel very fatigued (and have actually fainted three times) my doctor, after testing me for everything she could think of, has diagnosed me with fibromyalgia.

I’m not quite convinced.
From what I’ve learned, Fibromyalgia is more of an umbrella term, a generalized term for muscle-nerve auto immune disorders we really don’t know much about.

My uncles, two identical twins in there late 40′s have more or less become lab rats at Mayo Clinic. Their Doctors have tested them for everything under the sun and are unable to come up with a diagnosis. All they know is that it is an auto immune disorder that is related to the nerves and effects just about every muscle in the body.

My uncles symptoms are similar to mine, except MUCH worse. Apparently it worsens dramatically with age. My mother also experiences the same pains, worse than mine but slightly less than my uncles because she younger than they are.

In addition to the muscle and joint pains and the weak spouts I experience;

trouble sleeping, and staying asleep,
terrible and frequent migraines that seem to be triggered by bright florescent lights,
and strange vision problems (it will seem as if the lights in the room will brighten suddenly, blinding me until I’m literally squinting and this makes it impossible to read in class or really function)

Shifts and changes in weather seem too worsen all of my symptoms as well as what I eat and my stress level.
If theres anything anyone know of that might help, please anything, just let me know
