Should I get a 3rd dog?
My two Pugs are 14 y.o.. The female has arthritis of the spine and won’t be around too much longer. The male is very codependent. Should I introduce a third dog now. Also I want a bigger dog to take on long walks for fitness. Any input???
yea u sould get a labordor or retriever they r the besst dogs and a friendly with dogs and people and love playing and taing walks
I love Golden Retrievers. They are an all around good dog. They can be loving, good with kids, protecting, snuggly, and pretty much anything you want it to be. They are very active and they shed alot. Also around the area I live there really isnt any breeders so for me they are hard to get.
It may be helpful for the male when the female passes on, but I suggest an adult rather than a puppy because of their ages and really supervise the interactions together
I would wait to get a new dog the new puppy might be to much for the old dogs.
Yes. Get a dog that is a bit younger (not a puppy though – get a dog that is already a few years old.). It may breathe new life into your older dogs. I would get a breed that is compatible with your dogs, because you want the older dog who may be without his sister soon to connect with the new dog. A pug, or a small to medium mixed breed dog would be good. Lots of dogs needing homes on petfinder.org
yeah i would get a lab or golden retriever they are great bigger dogs. I would wait till well how to put it nicely your other dog passes. I wouldnt want her to feel pushed out and like you are replacing her. When she passes get you another one that week. Your other will grieve but if you get another dog in a week or so he will be fine. I just wouldnt want your female pug to feel pushed out. and sometimes female dogs will fight with other female dogs so the female pug might take defense on the new pooch.
