I have psoriatic arthritis and am being seen by a rheumatologist, am taking Enbrel, MTX and prednisone. I sit for eight hours at my job, taking breaks once an hour to walk around & stretch. Would using 1 pound ankle weights to do leg lifts under my desk – help get the circulation going? Or is this a bad idea?

my arthritis doctor ordered the scan and i have OA and cervical stenosis, with degeneritve discs from c2 to c6. what will this test show.

One night my son woke me up in the middle of the night that his knee was swollen. The next day, we noticed that it had water/fluid on/in it. In talking to him, he has had no accidents nothing that he can remember to have hurt his knee. Took him to an orthopod on Monday and he has us going to see a Rhumatologist and going in for MRI and blood work. He really isnt in any pain, only when he squats down or does bends his knee under pressure.

I am not familiar with these conditions, anyone have any ideas? That is just what he could come up with why a very healthy/active 15 year old would just start having these symptoms.

I’ve been to the doctor about both swollen knees, and have had water drained once from each knee, I also have swelling in ankle.
My doctor says arthritis, but I thought arthritis was painful, my knees don’t really hurt, very minimal mostly discomfort from swelling. My ankle hurts more, but doc never looked at my ankle, because swelling in knee was worse and wants me to go to arthritis specialist with “evidence”. I have it, 1 knee was drained just 2 months ago, got steroids in it, now my other knee is swelling AGAIN, that one was drained already 9mnths ago. The swelling never seems to completely go away.
FYI..I have hypothyroidism (synthroid), alopecia, ashma(advair), eczema on hands and feet, “arthritis”(diclophenac) and I’ve started taking claratin and tagamet for unexplainable hives for 4 mths.
Is it arthritis, something else, or any helpful advice would be appreciated? Or if anyone knows a lifestyle change that may help. I have an avrage american diet. not to healthy, not to bad

I read several articles that coffee triggers arthritis-
I stopped drinking coffee-and it has helped the pain
and inflamation completely- but now, I wanted to know
if there is anything I can take or do to help my
osteo-arthritis.

My daughter (age 6) is having problems with her urinary tract. In trying to figure out what is going on, I was given a message from a nurse that my daughter’s doc had said if she had more symptoms this weekend, to take her into the after-hours clinic and tell them he had an order on file for a blood test to check for arthritis (the nurse said specifically arthritis, pause, rheumatoid arthritis). Anyone know more about this?

We have a black lab/pit mix who is 11 yrs old, recently she has been limping favoring her right leg. The vet we went to said she had arthritis in her shoulder and joints. Dog is on pain meds/ inflammation reducer. We are just wondering if there is a better cure for her
