My older dog cries all the time. Is he in pain?
My older dog (13 year old dalmation) has been crying a lot…. LOT! All the time unless he is sleeping.
He had 5 seizures a couple weekends ago, and I took him to the vet. Now he is on anti seizure meds. Problem with that is that it makes his hind end really weak, and makes him not as mobile. He is also on Deramaxx for arthritis, and Puppy Prozac.
Is it “time”?
You shouldn’t let him suffer, it’s his time I’m afraid.
Dalmations are known to only live for 9 years so yours is very old and lucky to live for 13 years already. I think you should be happy for him and let him be…..it’s time.
Only you and your vet know if it is time. People on the internet do not know. The general rule is that if the dog has more bad days than good, it’s probably time.
Have a talk with your vet and spend some special time with your dog.
I think it is the time. He cannot suffer day by day. Get your feelings out now and get prepared. Take him to the vet and put him asleep. He lived for a long time with 8-10 years being the average. Maybe throwing him a nice little funeral?
I am sorry.
So very sad. Your heart must be breaking but I think it is time to say goodbye to your dear faithful friend. You don’t want him to suffer. I know it will be hard but you must think of him now and not you.
