My granddaughter has juvenile arthritis.Doctor recommended methatrexate..chemo drug…is this safe?

I have Arthritis and have had it since I was 9 (I’m now 18). My doctor’s put me on that medication, it is a Disease Modifier. The only problems I had with this drug is that it made me quite sick for 48-72 hours after taking it. I was prescribed anti-sickness tablets (which didnt work).
It is a serious drug but when I was on it my health started to get better. The pain, stiffness and inflammation decreased significantly.
