My 10yr old german shepherd is almost paralysed due to osteoarthritis…?
its been about 4months now since shez suffering wit dis problem and since the last 2 days,she is having difficulty in standing.is it arthritis,can v do sumthing abt it?or cud the cause be sumthing else,plz help…!
The dog needs to be examined by your vet. If it is arthritis Glyco-Flex and Cosequin DS Plus are good glucosamine supplements. It takes 4-6 weeks to see the improvement. The vet can prescribe Rimadyl for pain.
Has vet given you any medication to make her more comfortable? You could visit them again and say how bad it is. Or you could ask around and try a homeopath? My sister had a lot of help for her sheepdog with her joints and her nerves from herbal remedies. Strange but true.

But I would suggest Medication first – If everything can be fixed or improved that way
German shepherds are prone to hip dysplasia and the osteoarthritis that results. Another common problem that they have is called lumbosacral spondylopathy, which also results in hind end weakness. Your veterinarian should be able to differentiate between the two problems with a physical exam and maybe some X-rays. Treatment is available (take a look at the links below) so it is worth getting her in for an exam.
