at this time NO there is not a cure but there are alot of remedies to help deal with it on a daily basis.
There is no cure, but you can take certain supplements like glucosamine chondroitin to slow the process down and boost the immune system.
No, there is not a cure at this time. There is medication to help slow down the progression and pain of the disease.
I answered your other question a few minutes ago. No there is no cure at this time. The drugs that are being developed today, however, are getting stronger and work better. Starting with regular analgesics like aspirin and tylenol, moving onto NSAIDS like plaquenil and sulfasalazine, steroids, and even DMARDS (disease modifying anti rheumatic drugs) that includ methotrexate, gold, etc. The newest drugs are the biologics that work usually with the DMARDs, or sometimes alone. These are enbrel, humira, kineret, orencia, remicade, and a few newer onse that are still in early phases. Enbrel is a once or twice a week injection, humira is once weekly or biweekly injections, kineret is a daily injection, Remicade is an iv infusion about every 6-8 weeks, and orencia is an injection but i do not know the details.
I am on a cocktail of NSAIDS, DMARDs, and a biologic as well as a few others to help with breakout pain and side effects. It has taken about 4 years to get to this point. It has definately not given me a cure, but it allows me to walk. I could not walk or rite easily due topain and swelling. I even had to withdraw out of a college class due to swelling and pain. Even though i still have daily pain, i m greatful that i have the drugs that i have.
