I have a 7 year old chow with arthritis would a small english lab be to energetic???
I know I asked a similair question but I want to see if I can get a different answer. My aunt just had puppies they would be the one I would get. My dog loves other dogs and just wants a friend.
I have a similar situation, an old dog and a young playful pup. The older dog plays and roughhouses with the pup all the time now whereas before he would just lay around. He is not going to hurt himself. If he gets tired or starts to ache, he will simply lay down. I think the exercise and companionship is good for him and I also let him have an aspirin every other day which does wonders for him. My guy is a small dog, so your chow could easily handle one aspirin a day.
