I gave my dog Triple Flex for her arthritis! She has an upset stomach and is pooping normal but its black poop?
Is the Triple Flex causing her stomach upset and black poop? And does Triple Flex have aspirin in it?
Ok good. I think i may know shy she is like that. Her paw was bleeding and she was licking it…so thats what caused the black poop. And she has a stomach upset because i probably over fed her.
No,it does not contain aspirin.It contains glucosamine,chondroitin and hyaluronic acid,all of which are safe for dogs. Your dog may have something else wrong with her.You should call your vet right away,and do not give her anything else until you find out what is wrong.
Tarry black poop is usually caused by a bleed high up in the GI tract. Keep a close eye on her gums to make sure they’re still pink, watch for a racing heart too. Make an appointment with the vet, an emergency one if there are signs of her being severely amaemic.
If it’s a bleed the vet may give your dog Antepsin or Sucralfate which will reline and soothe the stomach mucosa. An herbal remedy is Slippery Elm Bark.

Arthritis is such a complicated condition. In humans it can sometimes be associated with a propensity for stomach ulcers to develop as well as psoriasis.
It does not say that it contains aspirin but there is a warning on the website for people sensitive to aspirin or anyone taking blood thinning medication, so I take that to mean that it contains blood thinning ingredients. Black stool indicates that there is bleeding in the upper GI tract (digested blood is black). Don’t give her any more of this stuff, and if she keeps having black poop take her to the vet.
