Well have you seen a orthopedic doctor? You could have a knee or hip replacement done which I have seen people get great relief from having a joint replacement. You could try injections but in time you will eventually need replacement. Heat seems to work pretty good or in some cases ice works good also it depends on you. If you could take motrin/ advil any antinflammitory medication.
You may want to go to a pain clinic. You may want to explore the option of pain meds, steriod injections or maybe a cane for support. Maybe even swimming so you can get your strength back up without much impact.
I’m am 52. I have post-polio, osteoarthritis in my hip and knee on top of everything else. I shop where they have scooters and most places do now. Walmart, Kmart, the mall, all supermarkets. Cotsco.
I also bought a scooter of my own….about 4 years ago that folds and comes apart to fit in the trunk of the car.
I go everywhere, vacation, the park with my grandchildren, just a stroll down the street, church, I don’t miss a thing.
Also, I use magnetic therapy, that works well for me…as far as pain. Contact your insurance company, they might even cover a percentage of the cost of your scooter.
