take 2 tablespoons each day of apple cider vinegar,,,,1 in the morning…1 at night….someone told me this, and I do it daily…it has really helped the pain in my knee…but you have to take it faithfully….
For your hands and wrists I would use something called a power ball. Golfers and such use it. It is a gyro that you spin in your hand and will strength the muscles in your hands/wrists. It is said to be very therapeutic and help with arthritis. You can purchase them on power ball. I have two and they definitely help me with my carpal tunel. For your knees I would suggest low impact workout. Maybe water aerobics.
Turmeric and Boswellia are both good anti-inflammatory herbs. You can get a combination of these herbs at a health food store called Turmeric Special Formula. It also has bromelain, an anti-inflammatory enzyme. Also, horsetail will help rebuild the cartilage.
Anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen should help. I have a hot wax melt that I dip my hands into. The warmth helps so much.
You didn’t mention if you are right handed or left. You can wrap a washcloth around the handle of your toothbrush and it will help you grip it without dropping it. You can wrap a tea towel around the handle of the refrigerator and slip your forearm through it to open the door without using your hand. I have had much success with analgesic creams too, like Sportscreme and Theragesic. Hope this helps.
Ask your doctor if taking a Glucosamine supplement would be helpful (he should be able to answer this over the phone); also ask if Ibuprofen would be okay to take. I am not in the habit of telling people what to take medicine wise, because I am not a doctor. I only have medical background. But I do know Glucosamine helps people, and also Ibuprofen. Also, what you may want to do…soak in a hot bath to relieve pain in your joints; and use those icy hot patches…I hear they work great for my mother who battles arthritis.
Get yourself a copper bracelet. I have very bad arthritis in my left shoulder and arm and my mother bought me a copper bracelet and it has helped a lot.
