Do you think that i could qualify for social security? Please read ?
Here goes, I am a 29 year old male who has severe psoriasis and severe psoriatic arthritis, which is very similar to rheumatoid arthritis. I have arthritis in my right knee, both ankles, back, neck and shoulders. I cant stand for longer than 10 mins. I cant sit for more than 30 mins. I also received a total knee replacement (TKR) at age 26 (which is very rare for my age) due to severe arthritis. I used to work in a food production factory and was really happy with my life. I now live with my mother and very depressed (almost suicidal, well see lol) and have NOTHING. I literally cry everyday. Do you think I could possibly get SSI.
I am seeing a doctor for all of this
my answer still stands….picking a person who just says ‘yes’ with no explanation..doesn’t make that answer good..
i worked while not being able to stand for more than 3 minutes or sit very long..i got a job where i frequently changed position..i worked with severe knee issues to the point of lightly bumping it caused severe pain that would drop me to the ground…..
your depression will lift when you develop a better attitude…having a disability does not mean you can’t have a good life…..you need to be working with a therapist identifying the positive things in your life.
if you worked, you may be eligible for SSDI–the number of credits you need depends on your age…
disability is for people that can’t do ANY job….you don’t mention problems with your hands..
i worked with severe pain throughout my body for years…..
are you sure you couldn’t do anything like bank teller, pharmacy tech, customer service at a supermarket? maybe work on computers managing internet connections for the cable company?
the first thing you should do is contact vocational rehab and see if they can find a job you can do and offer you training…if they decide to send you to college….you might get disability until you graduate and have training for a new job
i assume you have not responded to treatment….for arthritis or depression…if you haven’t gone through extensive treatment, you will not get approved..
the depression may qualify you if you are hospitalized a couple times.
