Do I have Juvenile Arthritis or Arthritis or what?
I am a 17 year old guy. I play football (Offensive Line). My dad’s side of the family has a history of Arthritis. My grandma can barely walk, and my dad is in his upper 40’s and he is already struggling to walk at night. My knees hurt really bad after I exercise, and when i wake up (or after resting) i can crack my knees (you will hear a pop). Also when I make a fist (both hands) my joints will pop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
No, I don’t think so. Healthy people’s joint pop and crack. It doesn’t mean arthritis. There are little gas bubbles in joints and when they move or pop we get this noise. People with arthritis sometimes get the popping noise, but they also get pain with it and often a grinding noise.
There’s more to arthritis than just pain. Do your joints swell? Do they get red and hot? Do they get stiff?
What sort of arthritis does your Dad and Grandmother have? If it’s osteoarthritis (which occurs in old people), then that’s irrelevant to you.
If you’re able to play football, I seriously doubt this is what’s going on.
