I want to be a vet assistant. But am wondering, for dogs with old age (arthritis or post surgery) if there was such thing as physical therapy for dogs? If so, how would I certify in that? Thanks!
Dog Arthritis Archives
my dog is getting older and has arthritis and i am wondering is it safe to give it Tylenol ibuprofen. or will it do more harm then well for poor fido

For the 15 year old its just so sad to see her get nothing and give me the look. This is probably her last Christmas so make something big and not exspensive thanks to the people that answer God bless.
we do not know what kind of dog she is. i do own her mother but her mother is a pointer mix and we dont know who her father is. she is near the same size as the 2 dogs that are likely to have mated with her…the 3rd dog is probably too old…hes 14 and has very bad arthritis so we are sure he didnt mate with her. Really we arent sure what to expect but i do not have the money to take her to the vet and have an ultra-sound but luckily the dogs she bred withs owner is a dog breeder and has been for A LONG TIME so tomorrow he said he would come over and check her out to see what he thinks
dude calm down…im 16…my neighbor gives her shots that she needs b/c he gets them from the vet or w/e and i DID NOT breed my dog on purpose. and i already have homes for every one of the puppies…i have talked to 10 different people that agreed to take them and they are very trusthworthy people
I enjoy walking with my dog, but I have arthritis in both hands and walking them becomes severly painful. They just jerk around on the leash and won’t listen to my commands. I tried the gentle leader, and that helps a little bit… but I don’t know.. I rather they not pull on a leash or w.e.
I’m up for all suggesstions so please help!
Thank you guys.
I’ll take your advice Portila and Richard. I think stopping when he pulls is a great idea. And the stick idea sounds wonderful.
I can tell hes hurting, probably arthritis for being 9 years old
My boyfriend has a german shepard/akita mix. She’s probably about 8 or 9 years old and as of lately she keeps limping with her left front paw. We’ve been giving her arthritis tablets for dogs in hopes that it’d help her but she still seems to struggle with it. Are there are things we can do to make her leg feel better. Him and his mom think that it’s just the weather that’s bothering her but she was fine this time last year…
Would heating packs or ice or something help soothe it?
I have been taking my dog into the vet for two weeks now and she keeps coughing and breathing heavy.
She drinks alot of water, alot. Two weeks ago I took her in and they said it was just arthritis and her lungs sounded good and heart and gave her some antinflamatories and now they took ex-rays and has a mass that is pressing against her esophagus and heart and is running a fever. what could it be? I don’t want to lose her.
try synflex for pets,it worked wonders on my dog it actually corrects the problem, not just dulls the pain like meds websites; the earl station, and easysource.com. it is about $30 a month and well worth it . it stops limping and pain
My dog has very bad arthritis in her back legs and I am trying to help her lose weight as she is a little fat. I would like to give her lots more exercise than just her normal daily walk. Today She had a long walk and she did a lot of running about and chasing the ball, although now I can tell that it hurts her a lot and I takes her a long time to get up and her legs are very stiff. Should I carry on giving her lots of exercise to lose weight or do I just let her be fat?
I am also going to give her glucosamine with her food at night
Her vet has told us to feed her rice and chicken or white fish until she has shed a few pounds so fingers crossed that she will!
She loves to swim so that’s a great idea! And yes she had got arthritis the vet has told us and it is very painful for her
