Arthritis Symptoms Archives

I was tested and it was negative, but lately I have been experiencing severe shortness of breath and joint pain. I was told that these are symptoms of hiv. I am 54 years old and I DO have arthritis , but I was told that that is a symptom of hiv.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a diagnosis based on these symptoms.

Before you say anything, yes i have visited a number of doctors but they are having trouble finding a diagnosis. So…I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Thanks so much :)

Symptoms:

Stiff and Aching Joints (Ankles, Knees, Hips, Elbows, Pinky and Ring fingers on both hands)
Swollen Joints
Joints hurting particularly in the morning and at night
Headaches
Fatigue
Spiking Fevers that come and go with no apparent reason

Many of the symptoms point to JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) but I had all the necessary blood tests taken and there was no rheumatoid factor in my blood (p.s. I am a young, otherwise healthy, active, teenage girl)

Thanks for any suggestions!
I also forget to add that recently i have a regular muscle spasms in my elbow and it appears as if my tendon is popping in an out. If this helps at all! :)
Ashley C this is in no way to offened you it is simply to avoid getting any more answers suggesting pregnancy.

It is impossible that I am pregnant because I have never done anything of that sort at all what so ever.

But thank you for that suggestion because believe or not, my doctor did not even look into that and if I was in that situation your answer could have been a blessing!

i have been feeling ill for quite awhile, i was dx with fibromyalgia about 2 years ago, the drs. knew i had some form of auto immune disorder but havent aggressivly searched for anything, recently had a bone scan done and shown that in shoulders, elbows wrists, knees, there was evidence of degeneritive arothopy, my pain mgt. dr. advised me to go to a rheumy. i got in with in 1 week, this should of been my first clue, the dr spent less then 10 mins with me , but did order blood work, on my ana 12 profile it came back positive, speckled, and the titerwas 1:40 my complement c4 was 15. my cardiolipin was18.6 anti-ds dna ab by farr was 2.8, anion gap 19.0 and rdw was 15.9and my crp was 11.4, my question is i have suspected that i have had lupus for awhile, i have all the classic symptoms, but my first visit with the rheumy, he automaticly without haveing any previous history said i dont think you have lupus or rheumotoid arthritis, and without seeing blood work, does anyone have any answer

my Father will not go to a Doc nor eye Doc & has lost most of his vision! age 82; only med’s: one 323 mg. aspirin per da. for last few? yrs. only; his Father died with emphesema; my Father has never smoked cig’s nor anything else & never consumed alcololic beverages; his health has seemed to always been pretty good, except for above problems & arthritis ? in knees or feet it seems as he limps. I, nor my Mom, nor my siblings cannot persuade him to go to a Doc nor eye Doc. I am so worried; he has already stopped Driving; he’s always been a Farmer. my question: is his symptoms (eyes) of mascular degeneration OR glaucoma OR cataracts OR EVEN eye cancer; if his eyes hurt, he does not mention that to anyone (i’m afraid they might); he does not have much memory loss (dementia nor Alzhemiers –as my Mother does.. Dad has gall-bladder removed apx. 30 yrs. ago.

hey i took an online quiz that said i have 30% of carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms. could it be something else like another form of RSI? or arthritis? its only on one of my hands and the pain is mainly in to joints and wrist if i use my hand

my 19 year old mare lays down in her stall or outside and doesn’t get up, unless I go out and really encourage her up. Which means at night, she may have been down in her stall for a while. It is NOT colic, she is eating, drinking, pooping normal. She is not rolling. She just lays down and gets in the get up position, then, just lays back down. The vet said Arthritis, but she has no other symptoms of pain, or stiffness, swelling or anything. This has been going on only for about 6 weeks and happens about 1 or 2 times a week. I am not riding her like I should. She has not been ridden hard during her life. She does not snap, crackle or pop like an old horse does. I am at a loss

Today, my muscles and joints swelled and seized up so badly that it got hard to breathe and pulled my shoulders and elbows out of joint. I went to the doctor, and they just gave me two shots of Toradol and Phenegran. This has happened only once before, but it wasn’t this severe. That was when I was on Xanax XR. I never had joint pain or anything until I took that medication. It says that is one of the side effects. BUT, I’ve been off of it for three months. Why would my muscles and joints screw up so severely now? I never got my limberness back, and I’ve had more pain since that medication, but my whole body had never seized up like that before. They didn’t give me enough Toradol because it didn’t help much. When my other doctor gave me that shot the first time, it worked immediately. So why would a “medication” still be affecting me this badly? I am really doubting that I came down with a sudden case of arthritis at age 22 with no symptoms beforehand. How can I fix this?
Also, I am up to date on my Tetanus shot. And I know it wasn’t an allergic reaction because I haven’t eaten or been exposed to anything unusual in the last few days. How did Xanax XR damage my body that badly? I wasn’t even on it very long. Could I the damage be permanent???
To the first person that answered, I have gone off all my medication because I now know how horrible this shit is. My parents made me go to a shrink at 14 because they thought I was anorexic. I wasn’t. I didn’t want to take the drugs, but they literally would force them down my throat or they and the doctors would make threats about me going somewhere permanent… like a mental institution if I didn’t take their drugs. I’m not kidding. I didn’t do research then because I was naive and thought my parents and doctors wouldn’t do something to hurt my health so severely. But after many horrible realizations from certain experiences and research I have done, I found out that these psychiatric drugs should NEVER have been legal. And I HATE how they are giving these to children and adults all the time now, like there’s nothing wrong with it. But I do NOT think it’s my fault that the doctors gave me bad drugs. I was young when it happened, and after being drugged up for so long, I was
convinced that there was something wrong with me after all. I finally realized it wasn’t me. It was the drugs. Now my health is ruined, and not just what happened with the Xanax XR. But don’t you DARE tell me that it was my fucking fault. It was parents and doctors. My parents didn’t do research, they forced me, and hurt me. And the doctors just wanted to make money. I get that now. I wish I had known beforehand. Also, I’ve been to doctors trying to get help, but none want to admit that the drugs they prescribe or support (their clocks, kleenex boxes, all that are covered in drug names) are really incredibly harmful.

He has been to the vet twice and they have found nothing. He used to have a history of arthritis, but has not had those symptoms for 3 years. He is older, about 10 years old, a German Shepherd mix. He seems to be depressed and has trouble controlling his bodily functions. He is in severe pain and I want to help him. He paces our house for great periods of time and you can tell that he just wants to sit down but it is uncomfortable for him to sit down. When we check on him, he yelps for no apparent reason. His legs sometimes tremble, probably because he cannot sit down.
