Arthritis Relief Archives

When a person is suffering with arthritis pain, that person will try just about anything (within reason) to alleviate some of the pain.

I was told about a method of soaking golden raisins in gin, eat 5 per day and it would help with the inflammation and pain — similar to the relief gout sufferers experience with cherries.

Has anyone else used this method? What type of gin to use and how long to soak the raisins? Did this method provide a measure of relief?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Had great relief from arthritis in my knee with a magnetic knee brace, and was wondering if anyone else has tried magnets, and why do they work?

Is this due to my Diabetes or after effects of my Tamoxefen and other maintenance medicines ? It has been a month that I am suffering from these pains. Pain relievers does not help relief my pains.I have already gone to a Rheumatologists but he send me back to my Oncologists. Please help me.

I’ve been tentatively diagnosed with some form of inflammatory arthritis. It started in my foot, and moved to my knee. I’ve had 2 MRIs, a bone scan, and Xrays and they are saying arthritis.
I’ve also had alot of bloodwork and everything looks normal except for my sed rate which is significantly elevated.

I am seeing a rheumatologist. At my 1st appointment she put me on 10mg of prednisone a day. She acted like I would feel a difference right away. After a week with no relief I went back to see a physician’s assistant. She doubled my dose of prednisone so now I am on 20mg a day. She said it should make me feel at least 50% better. The problem is that my knee is incredibly swollen and sore in the morning and evening. She didnt say that the prednisone would take care of all the swelling, but it sounded like it should help with the swelling and with the pain.
Its 1.5 weeks later and my knee is still huge and sore. The soreness I can deal with, aleve helps. I want a normal sized knee!

The muscles behind my left shoulder blade ache and burn and sore to the touch. I get relief when I can afford a massage. Is there a medicine or therapy I can do to stop the pain. I was told that it is a chronic condition.

What is the best pain relief for arthritis in your facet joints. I have tried ibuprofen, tylenol, aleve, aspirin and Ultram. Not much help from any of them. Any suggestions other than narcotics ?

How does it compare to Aleve for relief of minor arthritis pain? Do you have to take it all the time for a build up like with nsaids, or can you take it just when you need it?

I’m looking for the best real massage for muscle aches, stiff joints, arthritis relief … tension .. overall health. I don’t want to go to the other type joints ……
