generally there is a main rule in medicine administration,
If u have to choose between two harmful choices choose the least harmful , Side effects are side reaction beside the wanted to occur present even in natural herbals like liquorice having the same side effects of cortisone, However those side effects in some case are according to potency of drug accumulative e.x ergotamine (for sever headache) “if u took more 10 pills weakly lead u to serious side effect like hypertension”
What i am trying to say as the choose of drug is important also the way you take it ,
About the NSAIDs like celebrex ,
What really worrying me that some arthritis are rheumatic means accumulation of NSAID increasing risk of side effects
(headache, confusion and other CNS symptoms, increased BP, worsening of hypertension, edema, and decreased platelet function) especially those related to cardiovascular patients and those with previous ulcers or dyspepsia,
The risk always there with such vigorous diseases like arthritis ,
What must be done with any medicine, is recent clinical studies those important the drug effect differ with race and environment which differs with time also human body i mean in long intervals those peccary quality control tests are not last defense line
Responsibility also falls on physician who prescribes and pharmacist who provides in such cases like high risk side effects ,the drug must given by prescription updated with date that he takes medicine every time he goes to a pharmacy .

ok so yesterday night when we were going to bed my dog yelped as my dad tried to pick him up. we all thought it was just a muscle cramp and massaged him( it seemed to work) so we went to sleep. then at 10:00 about an hour later he yelped again, so again we massaged him. Now every time he gets up from resting he yelps! i dont know whats wrong with him. is it a sprain, arthritis, torn muscle, what?
after i massage him he seems fine. i called a few vet places and they said to bring him in just in case its not something even worse.
im just wondering what should i do in the mean time before i take him to the vet to help with the pain. NO ASPRIN i already gave him one (doesnt seem to help) he is 11 year old dachshund

Hello, I have a question about Chosamin DS( a joint health supplement). I am 21 years old that is a bit overweight so I have been running alot lately and my knees have started hurting(patellar tendinitis). Would this supplement be a good idea to take to make it easier to run and prevent damage to my knee while I lose weight? Because it seems like it’s mostly elderly people with arthritis taking it and they make it seem like they all have severe chronic conditions when they say “the pain comes back if I miss a few days of taking it”. I just want to take it as a precautionary measure to keep my knees healthy while I run large amounts. This post isn’t a question about how much I should be running but only about this particular supplement. Please let me know if this would be a good idea to add to my supplementation regimen just until my weight goes back down from around 210 to 170 because I didn’t have knee pain when I weighed that. The cost isn’t a problem I just want to do EVERYTHING possible to get me running everyday and down to my running weight again as fast as possible. Thanks
Thanks for your advice. And I am well aware of the supplement scam for fat burners and muscle builders and all that jazz. I only take a nutrilite multivitamin, a fish oil, and vitamin-C. I was only considering this because of the very high reviews it has recieved online, almost 90% of the people who reviewed it on amazon said it really helped.

My doctor has me on humira, prednisone, indomethacin, methotrexate, folic acid, meloxicam, and vicodin. I understand that it’s a difficult disease to treat and all, so I’m trying to be patient. But I’m in constant pain and can’t walk without a cane.

My grandpa’s doctor prescribed me a handicap sign so I could get to class before my first appointment with my Rheumatologist. It expired a couple weeks ago.

I not only go to school, but I also work full time and am dad full time. I told my doctor that I can barely walk, I have to take 3 baths a day just to ease the pain and keep my daughter from seeing my cry, and simply can’t be the happy person I used to be.

I’m not wining about it. Shit happens, and I’m not the only one with ra in his knee. But my rheumatologist wouldn’t renew my handicap sign, and will not give me more than 3, 5mg vicodin a day. I understand that this disease is tricky to treat, but the pain shouldn’t have to be.

My question is, is this normal? My knee is bigger than a grapefruit and I am not exaggerating when I say I can barely walk. Is it normal for him to withdraw writing a handicap sign for me and giving me so few pain pills? I’m considering a new doctor, but obviously won’t do so if that’s just how it is. It just seems to me I shouldn’t have to wait 7 hours in misery for 1 hour of relief due to a lifelong disease. Please tell me your thoughts, anyone. I just want to be able to function again….walking faster than my 2 year old would be a definite plus too!

I believe there is help without expensive drugs available for you.
An herbal oil that I know of that will relieve these pains and help quicken the healing process of these ailments and more.
This is 100% herbal, kosher, and safe enough to use for daily cooking if wanted.
A mixture of 7 herbs infused in extra virgin olive oil.

A example on how well this oil works.
I have a friend that I tried to get to use this oil (I have used it for years).
She always claimed her Tea tree oil was the best.
Well one day I went over to visit after not seeing her for a couple weeks. I could see in her face that she was in considerable pain, so mush so that she was near to tears (she was a very tough woman and not one given to crying). i asked her what was causing her so much pain and she told me she had shingles and nothing she had would help with the pain.
I said to her – will you please now at least try the oil I have, It will help.
She agreed to try it.
I returned a few days after I gave her the oil to check on her.
Her smiling face as she greeted me gave me my answer as to the effect of the oil.
“Do you have more of that oil, that worked wonders” was her first words.

This oil I personally have used on shingles, sprained, strained or pulled muscles, also because of it’s antibacterial, antiseptic qualities I have also used it on minor cuts and burns with great to excellent results and no ill side effects.

Do you think this would be a good oil to market, and would you buy it if it were available through the home maker I know. This is an infusion of specific herbs in olive oil that this woman came up with after several years of blending to get her desired effects of pain relief and healing. No one else I know of knows of this blend.
What do you think I should do to encourage the sale of this awesome oil on the market?

My 12 year old Airedale’s back right leg will shake uncontrollably, usually after a long walk. By the next day he is limping. I give him a dose of Metacam at night and he is great for quite a few days again. But I am worried about the long term or more frequent use of Metacam, as he gets older and/or needs pain relief more often… I’ve seen where Rimaydl has been sued due to side effects, so now I’m worried about Rimaydl too. Is there an anti-inflammation drug for dogs you can give daily that is safer? Or more safe? I know all drugs have some side effects. Any insight out there would be wonderful. Thank you
Thanks for all the answers. I’d love to know what else to research besides Rimadyl and the NSAIDs. Also, please understand I am not above using drugs! I absolutely agree with quality of life. That said, my dog is not in bad shape right now and anytime he limps he gets Metacam. I don’t believe in him having to suffer ANY pain either. Basically I wanted to know if there were other medications to research when the time comes that he needs pain relief more often. But it sounds like the best bet is to talk over my concerns with my Vet. Thanks everyone.

I haven’t been diagnosed yet, but my rheumatoid levels are high (got blood tests).
My doctor says he doesn’t want to diagnose me yet or something stupid like that. The pain is just spreading and getting worse. My hips are starting to hurt really bad, and so are my shoulders. And so many other places. It’s almost impossible to get up in the morning because of pain.

I’m almost in tears because this is getting so annoying. Sorry to complain but. I take ibueprofen as much as I possibly can, but it’s not working as well anymore. Tried alleve, still no relief.

What do I do?
My appt is at the end of the month. It’s so bad lately that I’m late to school because moving around in the morning is so difficult..

And my mom says I can wait.
