My father’s father had Rheumatoid Arthritis and became severely crippled. My dad has recently began having arthritis, that he inherited from his father. His fingers get locked in place when he folds them and is afraid of taking arthritis medication because he is diabetic and it will damage his liver and kidneys.
Any arthritis medication or remedies that wont damage kidneys and liver?
Any other advice is very very welcome (ex: Finger exercises like yoga, good food to eat, etc, etc)
Please help.

all the churches get together and pray the war in Iraq would stop?
Saving all those young men from dieing. Wouldn’t that be better than praying for anything else like arthritis in old people.
Give young people a chance to get old and get arthritis.
You guys are really cold. They didn’t chose to be there. The government sent them over there. Your so self righteous.
Okay ever since I was young it felt like I had a hard time learning not to bad but it was easy to be dealt with. I have some kind of problem I think it is a spinal cord disorder, but I always limp when I walk and my hamstrings are tight causing it.
So after I had surgery spellling and understanding things became very difficult. I had surgery on my ankle and below my knee to try to stretch the hamstring or something so I can walk more straighter.
Ever since I had the surgery spelling got so much worse. It feels hard to write like probably what a 3rd grader can do.
I spell their thier, and mix up weird and wierd , their thier and alot more, and it takes me so much time to process simple things. Also when I talk it feels like I have to think so hard to just speak normal like when to say has or had, it’s not to big but noticable when talking.
I do very good in school, because I try very hard and put in the extra time into it, but it gets so annoying. Like it feels that I could be taking AP classes if it wasn’t for this annoying problem.
Like when I write i also some time put lets say I was going to spell write I would first put the i then the w before it and finish it off.
I am too afraid to tell anyone but I already know that I have a learning disability since I am on an IEP for school. What is there to do. I don’t think this is something that can be cured
My parents work so hard for me, and I am going to college next year. It is going to be so hard and embarresing when I type up essays slow or take time to read things.
Like sometimes when I read it feels like I am reading in spanish. EXAMPLE: Like I know how to pronounce the words(sometimes), but I don’t understand it. Then if I read lets say a book slow I kind of understand it but not simpily like everyone else does.
I feel that I don’t know the meaning of simple words. Also my hand writting is really shaky” Im assuming from the spasm”. and my fingers get tired easily from writting and Ive been cracking them so much it feels sometimes like I am going to get arthritis if I don’t relax, but in 12th grade.. you cannot relax.
Please don’t tell me anything mean that will make me feel like giving up on life. Is there any medication to fix this, if so what? What else is there to do
Sorry about writting this in a messy unformated way.
About 3 weeks ago I took my dog to a vet because she had a fever, swollen eyes and mouth, pimple like bumps around her nose and mouth with bloody puss, lethargic, no appetite at all, itching, ear infection and pain around the mouth. They said it was either an allergic reaction or bacterial infection so they put her on an antibacterial medication called Cephalexin (500mg 2 times a day). She started to get a little better for the first 3 days, but by the 7th day she was even worse and had new symptoms. We decided to take her to a different vet. When we took her she had all the same symptoms as before but the added symptoms were joint pain and she would just lay on the couch and not move. I looked online and she had the same symptoms as “Puppy Strangles” I even looked at the pictures of other dogs and it looked just like her. We told the new vet what we thought it could be but they didn’t think that was what she had. They said she had Arthritis in her joints and gave her a steroid shot ( don’t remember what it was called) and ear drops for her ear infection and put her on Prednisone. After 2 days of being on the Prednisone she was about 50% better and by 5 day later she was 100% better. She has now been on the Prednisone for about 2 and 1/2 weeks and only has 4 more days. The 1st 5 days we had to give it to her 2 times a day and then the next 5 day 1 time a day and now we are on the last 5 days and we have to give it to her every other day and now that we are giving it to her less her lips are starting to get swollen and it is itching really bad again. I don’t know what it could be or why it would be coming back again or even if it cured it or just covered it while on the medication and now that we aren’t giving it to her as often its coming back. we are going to have to take her back to the vet on monday but I thought I should see if anyone has any ides or has had this happen to their dog. Thanks

I had pain in my several joints (clavical bone, jaws, knees, foot, hip, etc..) for several months. All the types of diagnosis done and there was nothing found about my disease. I was fed up with trying many medicines. Finally it was named as “Reactive Arthritis” and given “sulfasalazine” and a pain killer and a few more medicines as treatment. Got the result in two months, I got cured, but continued medicine for about 3 years as per medical advice.
The other problem I have is often have eye redness, irritation and pain. Firstly I had this 8 years back, and then had it four years back and again I have it now. Everytime when I go for check up, during diagnosis nothing is found and finally I am suggested to take steroids for a certain period.
Now, can anyone suggest me something to get rid of this peculiar issue….?
Any alternative medicine?

“I’ve seen a 85 year old male, with arthritis, gout, high blood pressure, pooing and peeing problems, completely change in 3 weeks of eating raw fruit. He was removed of all his meds and he began jogging at his own will.”
85 years old. All of those maladies. Completely cured to the point they are taken off of all meds by their doctors, just because they ate raw fruit for 3 weeks. Then starting jogging, at 85, on top of that.
Is this biologically or scientifically possible?
People. I’m astonished by the first 3 answers. You obviously haven’t researched those maladies.
That first link is a riot! Bananas and zucchini are good for the penis because they are shaped similarly! LMAO!

Robo-It’s a quote from the V & V.
I have this really weird migraine aura disease that I have to be on meds every day and it makes me feel HORRIBLE and it has HORRIBLE side effects and it doesn’t even work. And when it doesn’t work (because I think this disease will NEVER be cured, 11 months already and I dont even weigh enough for the medicine TO even work, according to the doctor) they just put me on MORE meds and DIFFERENT meds which have a very sh!^$@ range of side effects. First one was a steroid which caused “extreme vertigo”. Second one was a beta-blocker, which somehow lowered my already low blood pressure and made me lose my vision and black out every time I stood up. Finally, this newest one causes “temporary arthritis” so now my joints and bones hurt like HECK. They are literally playing “Russian roulette” with medication. So finally I just stopped taking my medication and told my parents I was taking it. And I stopped everything, even my acne meds, and I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better and happier but I feel really bad because I KNOW im suppost to be taking them but I just can’t anymore. I just wanna tell my parents my migraines are gone so I don’t have to go to the doctor anymore.I’ve talked to them about stopping the meds cause they really aren’t helping and ive been on them for three months and its kind of totally wrecked my summer but they aren’t letting me stop taking it, even though its hurting me greatly. And apparently this is a “rare” disorder so a medical school student comes in to observe every doctor appointment. I feel like a freak. They don’t have many cases like this and “even though they went away” the people who had it had it for a HUGE amount of time and had to take medication for longer than six months, and even worse it was either antidepressants or anti-seizure medication with a really big dosage and those things are REALLY bad for you. I’m afraid of telling my parents this med isn’t working because after a few other meds the next on the list is antidepressants and I’m already IN moderate depression (for different reasons, parents dont understand) and that might just be the push to make me try and hurt myself or even worse try to commit suicide. And each failed medication doesn’tt make my depression any better. Once again, I have told my parents ALL of this but they said I cannot stop taking it until this disease is fixed.
I would rather have this condition for the REST OF MY LIFE lest take another medication. Sure, it looks as if somebody spilled broken glass all over my vision, and there are clear lines and strikethroughs in everything I see every single day every second of my life since last September, but I still have 20/20 vision, and it doesnt hurt at all.
I can’t talk to ANYBODY ELSE about this because they look at me like im a total loon. Nor can I contact the people who’ve had this because theyre info is confidential. I’m 14 and going into freshman year, I don’t have time for this! what do I do?!?
And I know you will say, “You should just be strong and take the medication” but I have had this for an entire YEAR. And also, keep in mind this branched off of a different commonly recuring viral disease that i had for two weeks in september so I will probably have this again in another year.
So now you tell me, is it worth it to take medication?
Can’t. The doctor has to listen to what the parents say. My opinion means nothing.
So I just talked to my parents. I was crying and they were making fun of me the whole time. So I have two options:
1) Take the meds.
2) Stop taking them and have my parents make me drop out of school and never qualify for a drivers liscense.
I can see 20/20, but they have some messed up idea that I’m blind or something.
OK, so I’ve got pains I can’t explain… the problem is that I’ve been to countless doctors and have been unable to get a satisfactory diagnosis.
The pain seems to be everywhere… when I am seated in certain positions… I feel it in my hips and in my mid back. When I walk or stand for any length of time… the pain is lower now… like my lumbar area… and in my neck… I also have numbness and heat in my hands (like arthritis)… tingling in my chest… numbness, tingling and heat in my legs. I have pains in my chest too… though I think that might just be panic and fear over these pains…. I don’t know.
I’ve been given pain meds and muscle relaxants which work… but then I run out and I’ve been unable to find a doctor who is willing to give me an ongoing prescription.
I’ve gone to acupuncturists, chiropractors, pain management centers, walk in clinics…. I’ve spent THOUSANDS, all to no avail.
I have also invested in a Temper-pedic mattress, weekly massage, a hot tub… and still I am plagued by pain.
Further, as this is impacting both my mood and my ability to think clearly, I’ve spiraled into a deep depression where I feel absolutely certain I am going to die… and soon. The fear of this and worry over my family is keeping me up at night… I find myself looking up my symptoms and finding the causes ranging from anything from a weakened immune system to lung cancer to leukemia. So naturally I’m terrified.
The other thing is that I’m uninsured and insurable (due to my weight… I’m 315lbs, and the fact that I’m self employed)… and because I’m unable to really exercise…. so it’s getting worse… not better.
I had a seated MRI in January… I think some of my problems are only clear when I’m standing since that’s when I’m in pain.
According to the MRI (we didn’t do the lumbar), I have I have at least three blown discs… T-10 to T11, T-11 to T-12 and T-12 to L-1…. that plus macular degeneration of the discs is causing inflammation and osteoarthritis symptoms…. I’m only 38… yet apparently I have the spine of a 70 year old.
I recently paid $3000 OOP for facet injections… a mixture of steroids and Novocaine… and I’ve gotten some minor relief…. but I’m still in alot of pain and it’s not getting better. My hands are on fire most of the time.
To be honest, I’m not convinced the pain I’m in is all in my back…. I feel chest pains and hip pains too… I’ve been told it’s all related… but part of me says fibromyalgia, part of me says it’s depression or a midlife crisis… and another part of me thinks it might be cancer, lupus, a heart condition, or even AIDS…. because all sometimes present as inflammation of the joints… and referring pain.
To make matters worse, I now can’t find a doctor to give me something to help the pain anymore… I’ve been to dozens of clinics…. the prevailing thought is that if it can’t be cured with 30 days worth of flexoril and vicoden… I should be made to suffer.
The last doctor I went to suggested I lose the weight…. as if that hadn’t been discussed… or as if I could stand up long enough to exercise meaningfully.
So guys…. what do I do?
I am dieting… and I’m taking Alli… a great diet pill… it’s working.
I also do not have any history selling pills or avoiding treatment.
The pain management clinics in my area are against giving out pain medication for some reason… they all promote alternative remedies… which don’t work.
How do I find a pain management clinic who is willing to prescribe drugs?
