Can you prevent diseases and other things in dogs?
Like in dogs such as German shepherds. Can you prevent cancer or hip dysplasia or arthritis? You know things like that? Because if they’re healthy, they live longer. What can you do to keep your dog healthy and long living?
Healthy diet, proper exercise, etc. Look into raw feeding.
Good food, plenty of proper exercise, and mental stimulation.
I’ve heard vitamins may help keep up his cartilage. I have not heard of any way to PREVENT cancer in dogs or humans. Don’t let him smoke cigarettes.
Proper breeding and healthy lifestyle are the only ways to help to prevent these illnesses. Poor breeding practices are the biggest cause of more pups being born to parents who carry unhealthy genes.
You can decrease risks by giving your dogs proper nutrition and exercise. You can prevent testicular/prostate or ovarian cancers by neutering or spaying your pet, respectively.
There’s a lot you can do to keep dogs healthy and live longer, like start with a very high quality holistic food that keeps their immune system stimulated. Make sure the company has never been on a recall list, they don’t use inferior ingredients, they have highest quality control standards, just to name a few things!
I have an entire website dedicated to this specific topic, as well as natural alternatives. If you’re interested, here’s the link:

One thing I would like to add, and this comes from my own personal experience, but if a dog (or any animal) is predispositioned by genes to inherit an illness/disease, some things are out of our control, sadly.
