Can I Feed My Dog Cod Liver Oil?
My labrador is getting old now, he’s around 13, but can’t be 100% as we rescued him, but I’ve noticed that he is taking longer to stand up because his back legs are starting to get tired. I was wondering if a cod liver oil capsule in his food may just help his joints and maybe ease and joint problems he could possibly get in the future, although he’s showing no signs of serious arthritis at the moment.
no. feed your dog dog food.
nooooooooooooooooooooo this will cause your bog to throw up witch is not good during a try peanut butter
Cod liver oil is more if you need vitamins so it might help and it’s definitely okay to give it to your dog.
I don’t see why not, and if by Cod you mean the fish, then it should be healthy for your dog, fish oil is high in omega-3 fatty acids. But I’m not sure I would feed my dog RAW fish oil. but yes, if it is in a capsule (like from a store) then it is very healthy for your dog to take omega-3 capsules.
NO!!!!! Feed your dog beneful.
No.
That’s a pill for humans,
not dogs.
Ask the vet before you do anything.
And you can’t feed him table scraps
either, that gives them stomach aches,
leading to the runs.
Joy for you.
Ask your vet.
(:
Cod Liver Oil is absolutely fine! That’s what I give my dogs & olive oil as well. It helps keep the dog’s coat shiny & healthy however, it does not help the joints. Give him Glucosamine. Bring him to the Vet & ask the Vet to x-ray & examine his joints. He may be in pain so painkillers may be needed as well. See what the doc says…
Yes you can. I gave it to my Golden Retriever when she started getting old, a capsule a day poured on her food. Keep it in moderation though, over-doing it can be harmful.
Give your vet a call for their recommendations for dosage and brand – some capsules contain other ingredients.
