Can a 16 year old have arthritis?
I’ve been having really awful pain in my hands, wrists, neck, and ankles. I did some research and my symptoms lead to arthritis. But I don’t know if 16 is too young to diagnose. You see, my grandmother had arthritis for 60 years and I know that it is hereditary. The pain is constant where it feels like everything is so tense. But I can never relieve the pain. Even when I crack my bones for momentary relief, it just comes back.
There is such a thing as Juvenile Arthritis, and it usually occurs before the age of 16. Arthritis can appear at any age, you can never be too young.
Sounds like your a hypochondriac or you may have rheumatoid arthritis. See if this is the type your grandma had or if she had osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid is genetic osteoarthritis isn’t. If it’s rheumatoid you could have symptoms at 16, but that’s still pretty young.
Yes a 16 year old can have arthritis, but there’s a lot more to it than just joint pain. There are over 100 different types of arthritis, some are hereditary and some aren’t.
What sort of arthritis did/does your Grandmother have? If it is anything other than Rheumatoid Arthritis or another autoimmune disease, like Lupus, then it’s irrelevant. Osteoarthritis, which is known as wear-and-tear arthritis is the most common and it affects older people. It’s not genetic, hereditary or anything else like that.
There are more likely explanations other than arthritis. Are you stressed? If you’re stressed it can cause you to feel pain in your body. Same with depression and anxiety. Especially because you said you feel tense.
The best person to help you is a doctor. They can ask you about your symptoms and run some x-rays, MRIs and blood tests. In the mean time, stop researching, it sounds like you’re finding something that might fit and assuming you have it.
….
yeah it is possible (i have had it since i was 9). you should go to the doctor to find out if it is or not because it could also be growing pains instead. so it might be but it is rare so you should go and get it checked out. i hope you feel better soon!
