I have been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and need to know what holistic treatments work.
Boswellia is a herbal remedy that is good for reducing inflammation. You may also consider taking vitamin D3 supplements if you are not already doing so.
why are people so hung up about holistic and alternative treatment?
GO TO YOUR DOCTOR AND GET THE REAL STUFF OR YOU WILL SUFFER UNNECESSARILY!
There aren’t any foods or holistic treatments that have been proven to work 100% (even most of the medication out there has shown to be pretty useless), however ginger has been talked about as a miracle food for many things, arthritis included.
My stepfather has really bad arthritis so every night for the past 2 years hes been making himself ginger tea. He buys raw ginger root from the grocery store and chops it up into pieces. He then puts it into boiling water and slowly lets it boil for a long time. His arthritis did get better, but it took about 6 or 7 months of this before he started seeing a difference. It’s definitely worth a try since ginger is good for you anyways
in my personal opinion i would suggest you focus on eliminating foods that are the culprit of your symptoms …. honestly…. sometimes it’s just as easy as that ….. psoriatic arthritis is entirely symptomatic of any number of food intolerances …. first one that springs to mind is wheat ….. eliminate wheat and see if your “psoriatic arthritis” improves …. your body is rebelling against you….. try it… all you’ve got to lose is pain.
a few years ago i had the most crippling pain in the fingers of my left hand and big toes… and i was only 42 ten …..gout and arthritis the doctor told me ….. eliminating wheat 12 months later entirely eliminated the pain.
but.
if i eat bread pasta, pastry, cakes, wafers, flat breads, pies …… any description of wheat… the pain comes back with avengance…… even if i buy hot chips from the take out ….. they paste them with a wheat sauce before they fry them to make them go golden brown….. ditto for eating rolled oats… cross contamination occurs on the production line as they as processed on the same equipment as bread products so i eat organic rolled oats….. ditto for popcorn ….. organic or i don’t eat it… the pain just isn’t worth it…… takes some organising yourself but when you’re sick of being in pain you’ll usually try most things and at least this isn’t an extra expense…… ;0)
anti inflammatory foods are those rich in vitamin C as vitaminC is a natural anti inflammatory… therefore foods such as fresh oranges, strawberries, berries, watermelon green salads and green vegies, limes, lemons are all rich in vitamin C …. vitamin C is also a natural laxative…… go on a fresh fruit cleanse for a day or two to clean out your digestive tract and notice the difference… juice it or eat it but do it……. go easy on the fruit and high on the green salads and vegies.
i fell on the answer…. i hope you do too.
bless u

Homeopathy can remove an individual’s susceptibility to arthritic conditions — remove the cause and the problem disappears permanently and removes the need to “take something” for the rest of your life. Certain foods certainly can trigger inflammatory conditions, the chief culprits being sugar, wheat and pasteurized dairy products. Aspartame artificial sweetener is also linked to inflammatory conditions. Excess body fat is inflammatory, so reducing your body fat percentage helps. If you do cut out sugar, wheat and pasteurized dairy products for 10 days most people will find that they’ve also dropped about 10 lbs. It’s also helpful to take 3×1000mg of omega 3 fish oil a day.
There is evidence that psoriasis and gluten sensitivity may be related to one another.
You can try and gluten free diet for 3 months and see if that gives you relief. It is very important to stay away from all forms of gluten as one exposure will set you back 4-6 weeks.
My wife has found that she did improve greatly once getting gluten free.
Will it work for you? I don’t know but it is easily explored. See link below for more info.
