My dog shivers alot even when she is in a warm room. She is a lab/alsation cross and is 13 years old which is pretty old. Does anyone know if this is because she really is cold all the time or if its something to do with her muscles and arthritis. We have been to the vet and she has no health problems, shes just an old girl. Does anyones dog do this?

I cannot remember when the foot pain started but in the last five years I went for treatment and had orthotics? made which slightly improved the situation. I don’t wear them now because they really didn’t help. I had x-rays done a few years ago which revealed some sort of arthritis. The health care system really sucks and I just don’t know where to turn with my problems. A doctor I saw recently said ” get used to the pain ‘cuz there’s nothing that can be done, except by an podiatrist, which he recommended. Can anyone relate and enlighten me? Also, I have hashimotos disease, is this related?
What do you think this is?
I have a history of rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed with symptoms and a + RA factor.
Last weekend I noted severe stiffness in my upper back going to the very back of my neck with pain radiating down both arms to mid deltoid. The pain doesn’t go down the entire arm just mid deltoid. I am also noticing a slight weakenss on the left side but it isn’t enough to drop things ect.
I am adding a picture of the tattoo on my back ( this was done over a year ago… but it marks the spot where I am having pain stiffness and aburing sensation. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b85/no…
My doctor set me up with Soma and an anti inflammatory. I feel a bit better, but the weakness on the left arm is still present and ever so slight. My fine motor skills aren’t affected, my arm feels week when I raise my arm over my head for example. My MD felt I have some sort of injury.. but I have had not trauma that I am aware of to that area. What to you think this is?

It’s usually from half way down his back and down. He hasn’t stopped crying. What should I do? Is there any kind of medicine that I can give him? He is a miniature poodle, bytheway. Does anyone know what it is? The Doctor said a while ago that it’s arthritis and happens whenever the weather changes.

In january i was in a minor car accident. The ins. adjuster gave me a small check to fix my car and so on. 2 days after i went to the emegency room with lower back pain. ER took x-rays, said i had a back strain and sent me on my way. 5 months later I was back in the same ER, this time i just woke up and could not move. Same doctor tells me I have arthritis in my back, which he can see from my x-ray taken 5 months before. Now I’ve missed worked in the process of all this and am activly seeking treatment still, because 1 month after this I was assulted at work by my client I take care of, whom also sent me to the ER. workmens comp. denied my claim for the week i was out for the assualt stating no injury sustained or no aggravation to previous injury. I guess my real question is not is it to late but who? and how would I start the process?

I have a female Doberman who is approximately 7 years old. Yesterday she suddenly started to limp on her right back-leg and was avoiding standing on it. When she starts to walk it seems to get better and after walking she tends to stand on that leg again. There are no visible injuries and when I move and stretch her leg she seems fine with that too. Otherwise she is fine and happy, has normal appetite, and still wants to play.
I was doing some reading online and found informtaion on “Paneosteitis”. The symptoms seem to fit pretty well, except that they usually affect young dogs. It says treatment, if any, involves painkillers and basically it just has to be waited out. She is currently on an anti-inflammatroy/pain killer for arthritis.
I am obvioulsy going to take her to the vet if symptoms continue. I just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience or some advice on what it might be or what could help.
She gets “Deramaxx” for arthritis on a daily basis already – prescribed by the vet.
Could it still be arthritis-related even though she is already getting medication for it, and it came completely out of the blue?
Thanks for all of the answers so far!
